fly a kite

So, I wasn’t able to find my dream kite but I found the next best thing: a mini Red Baron triplane which has super long red and black streamers AND a spinning propeller (bonus!). Thank you Kites on Clouds in Gastown, Vancouver, BC, Canada!

I can’t wait for a non-soggy day so I can fly it! Fortunately the kite came with instructions so if you are like me and have poor hand-eye coordination and are a spaz with things like this, you won’t be completely lost.

My kite-buying mission was thwarted since I had no energy left after eating all-you-can-eat sushi. I wonder if kites go on sale during the winter?

Why bother flying a kite, if your kite isn’t show-off-worthy?

My friend Liser had the best kite I’ve ever seen – it was a red airplane and on the tip of its wings, it had with blue stars in the centre of white circles. On the tail, it had red, white and blue streamers which trailed down when the plane was up in the air. I’ve been looking for one just like it and saw some funny ones: monster trucks, unicorns, and sharks. Nothing like that plane though.

So this weekend, I’m off to Granville Island to find that kite!
