it’s been fun while it lasted, but time to clean things up a bit and put things in perspective.

I just wanted to share a photo I took the other day. It’s of a cute cat lounging on toop of a wooden roof. Pretty relaxing to see this cool cat. =)

my children: 5 year old Max in the foreground, and tiny 10 year old George (a girl) behind him. Max is about 17 pounds, while George is just over 6 pounds. what a size difference!

have had a birthday! On Tuesday, September 12, 2006, they turned one year old! It seems impossible that they could be already so quickly so “old” and so big! grin
Peter (our big boy) weighs 10.6 pounds—and it’s all muscle.
Sophie (our little girl) is sleek and elegant at 8.0 pounds.
(Photos to follow.)

about taking this lovely little girl home. she is 10 years old and looking for her forever home at our local pet shelter. i met her yesterday, and i am in love (i think she is too). now what to name her? i was thinking “Aunt Ruth,” to honor a prior cat named Aunt Sue, and also a favorite aunt of mine who passed away several years ago. or maybe “George,” short for “Georgette” to honor two very special men i have known in my life. i’m taking votes and / or suggestions….
(i need to survive the next two days of heat waves before i bring her home. i work outside, and the heat index today and tomorrow is supposed to be 115, so this adoption is pending only if i live until thursday.)

NYCinephile
is hosting the Cinephiles at a screening of "The Visitor".
Bo will eat grilled Korean-style steak, banana nut bread from Starbucks and several other “treats”, while his sister (a different breed) simply turns up her nose and walks away.
Do you know what accounts for this behavior? Can you direct me to an authoritative reference that lists which “human” foods are OK for cats, and which aren’t?
