because I’m downsizing my list again. If specific questions are developed I’m willing to share my opinion about China. I honestly don’t know that much about China, I’ve really come to realize, though. When I see Chinese art, I enjoy it. I don’t know if American Chinese restaurants are indicative of real Chinese food or not. I do enjoy some of it. I think China produces a lot of products because I see “made in China” quite frequently on stuff I buy. I’ve always thought of people from China being intelligent and philosophical, but these may be generalizations coming to mind, too. Politically/Governmentally, I would have to say honestly I am afraid of some of the stuff that is covered in the news and other media sources. Now, all of this said…these are my impressions. While these may or may not be the case over all, I am open-minded enough to get to know people on a case-by-case basis and not make blind assumptions up front. Everyone is different.

"..it's the try that counts. Win, lose, or draw
I have ever had was with a gentleman (American) who was living in Bejing and making his living as a character actor in Chinese movies. We exchanged two or three emails, but the part of the exchange that usually first comes to mind is described below.
I asked him if people asked him what China was like a lot. He said that yes they asked, but what people did was start to tell him about China. He was the one who lived and worked there. The people who asked him really didn’t want to know, they wanted him to validate what they thought.

I thought that a lot of people must find it fascinating what he did and thought and felt, I certainly did. I wish we hadn’t lost contact.
So, I don’t know that I really have an opinion about China. I think it’s mind numbingly big, populated, and old. I also know that I don’t understand the culture.

I know you want to find out some things through this goal. So, are you going to post discussion topics, or are we supposed to just come up with what we think about China on our own? I understand, also, if you’re waiting for the team to build, too.
