write a book

I’ve been really thinking about my writing this year, especially since I’m now teaching GCSE English. So I promise this will eventually get done.

Maybe it’s time I started putting my money where my mouth is, so to speak. I have my first novel all planned. I know exactly what it’s about. What I don’t know is whether I can write well enough to do it justice.
But I guess I’m not going to improve my writing any other way than by just doing it.
I need to do a lot of studying, since I’ve dropped behind schedule, but I also need to consider my daily routine and work out a way of fitting in writing regularly. I need the practice!

whether I have the talent to do it is another thing! I’m trying to up the rate of writing over the next few months. Having just got a laptop, that makes it easier to write in comfort in the sitting room instead of shut away in the study, so I’m hoping to get a bit more writing done. It might be more in the line of the fanfic than the book to start with, but it’s all practice and a chance to improve my writing skills to the point where I feel able to tackle my novel properly.
