I’ve been neglecting my 43things. But I lost 1.5lbs this week so I’m happy :)

I’ve lost 1lb this week which means:
- I’ve lost 2.5lbs from my start weight.
- I’ve lost 4lbs from my heaviest weight.
I’m pleased-ish but really wanted another 1.5lbs as that’s what I’ve had the previous two weeks. However. 1lb is not to be sniffed at.
Today has been a mixture of goodness and not-so-goodness. I have a migraine and I’ve been feeling very sick and sorry for myself. I haven’t eaten to plan but nor have I eaten anything very bad – I’ve had an extra bowl of porridge this afternoon and substituted another bowl for lunch as I really couldn’t face what I’d planned. This is hardly balanced but porridge is my favourite GI Diet friendly comfort food.
I’m still overweight and still trying to lose. I have found a diet I can stick to (GI) and am taking it slow and stead.
I remain binge-free. Which is a minor miracle … I was feeling really ill yesterday and instinctively wanted chocolate but, even though I had to go to the shop, I bought and ate none!
And so I continue not to binge – although today’s been harder as I’ve been bored and cold. I still owe an LJ entry which will come … eventually. I read Stop Bingeing! by Lee Janogly today and that’s a book which has helped me very much in the past.
An LJ post about dieting is really required but, for the purposes of this Thing I’ve succeeded today as I’ve exercised (bellydance – can you believe it?) and haven’t had any snacks/desserts.
Monday is weigh in day and I find myself the same as last Monday. This has its good side and its bad side. It’s good because the upward trend is halted. It’s bad because I’m at my PMD (Personal Maximum Density – ie the top weight I ‘allow’ myself). I’ve been dieting (1500kcals a day) for three days now as well as getting as much incidental exercise (taking the stairs rather than the lift etc) as possible so hopefully there will be a shift in the numbers by next week. I have to confess that I’m rather worried I won’t fit into an aeroplane seat later this month or, at the very least, going on holiday will be an uncomfortable experience.
I’m going to concentrate on healthy habits instead of the more global ‘lose weight’ goal.
