that would be worthy of commemorating this magnificent man?
“I remember one time I tried to pity this fool. He told me his name was Jeff. He was married. He pulled out his wallet and showed me three pictures of his kids; Kelly, Robert, Brittany. Real cute kids. Don’t get too close man. It’s hard to pity a fool if you get too close.”
Mr. T is so wise. I wish he would marry me…

I respected my body by walking a few miles and then eating a dinner of rice, red lentils, sweet potatoes, and milk.
Ok, I admit that I did all that before thinking of it as a celebration of Mr. T’s birthday. I think Mr. T would still be proud, though.
LL misses her Matty!
I’ve got it in my diary for next year, so I won’t forget again!
My celebrating of this marvellous day was slightly belated, and whilst I wasn’t able to get into the hairdresser in time, I did wear a gold chain to work, and worked “I pity the fool” into conversations whenever possible.
Have to admit, I did get a few odd looks from some of the parents and teachers I was talking to… the kids, however, had no clue… poor little souls. I can only hope that their parents purchase copies of The A-team on DVD, and thus ensure that the legend lives on…
World peace would not be far off.
Word to your mom and thank you, Kiska79.

What a wonderful icon from my childhood. When I think of Mr. T, I also think of He-Man and She-Rah, the Smurfs, and Peewee’s Playhouse. Just a few of the tv shows that brought me up and influenced my life. Kind of frightening, isn’t it?
YouTube has a wealth of mr. T related material:

I think about my father being called ‘boy,’ my uncle being called ‘boy,’ my brother, coming back from Vietnam and being called ‘boy.’ So I questioned myself: ‘What does a black man have to do before he’s given the respect as a man?’ So when I was 18 years old, when I was old enough to fight and die for my country, old enough to drink, old enough to vote, I said I was old enough to be called a man. I self-ordained myself Mr. T so the first word out of everybody’s mouth is ‘Mr.’ That’s a sign of respect that my father didn’t get, that my brother didn’t get, that my mother didn’t get.
I will be calling my mother to tell her I love her.
Because Mr. T knows how to treat his mother right.
