I DDR’d at my cousin’s birthday party. I still suck, but I improved during the course of playing at the party.

As I said earlier, I want to try belly dance, hip hop, and freestyle, but I am also interested in swing, fire dancing, and some other forms of dance. I actually have fire dancing and belly dancing listed as seperate interests in addition to this generalized dance goal. Before I focus on the fire, I think I’m going to focus on simply being able to dance worth a flaming crap, no pun intended. I really need to draw up an outline on how to achieve this goal, but simply dancing alone in my room ( without thinking about it too much ) is helping, I think.

DDR as learning tool 3 years ago

You know, I just saw someone DDR’ing (playing dance, dance, revolution) on a t.v. show and it made me think- DDR could help me with my rythm, learning to step in time to the beat…...plus, it’s good aerobic exercise, which could be helpful in getting fit, being a better dancer, and helping my lung capactiy for singing and swimming underwater. Sounds good to me!

I love the idea of dancing, but my body won't comply 3 years ago

I’m not really sure where to start with this goal. I really love music and I enjoy dancing, but I’m pretty pathetic at it. I particularly want to learn belly dance, hip hop, and just plain out freestyle. I figure one way to achieve my goal is to help get myself into shape. It’s certainly true that you don’t have to be thin to be a good dancer, but I’m going to take a stab in the dark here and guess that while body fat might not really matter, muscle tone and flexibility probably does. I figure the more toned and flexible my muscles are, the more moves I will be able to pull off and the better I can execute them. Also, since some moves require muscle isolation, better muscle tone will probably equal better muscle control and awareness. So, I’m going to try to start working out. Really that will not only help me with my dance goal, but also my mermaid goal (need to get in better shape for that), and my goal to get in shape (not on my list yet, but it’s on the list in my head).
