stop picking my nails

so i have a fungal infection from the fake nails. i knew that was a possibility, but i thought it was a really remote possibility, like getting AIDS from a toilet seat or whatever. but i have noticed that im picking my nails less. of course, the fact that i have to keep them trimmed as short as possible to reduce the infection helps.

gross.

uh, i got really stressed out and picked them again. all of them. theyre back to their former, stubbier selves. so im starting over again with this goal. only without fake nails, because i think i have an infection from them. ugh…

still have not picked them. they are long, strong, and beautiful… just like me!

they say it takes three weeks to break a habit. since i put the goal here, i have not picked my nails. it has been two weeks. im in debt and im looking for a job here in chicago, which would usually mean my nails were pathetic stubs, but they are long, pink, and all natural!!! im so proud of myself!

so its going well without the fake nails. the natural ones are short, but have a definite tip for the first time ever. i was really stressed out today, so i made a conscious effort to NOT pick them and to just take deep breaths. hopefully this time i can break the habit for good.

ok, the fake nails have been removed, so now the test is on. we’ll see if i can really go through the rest of the week without picking them. i cleaned and filed them, so they look very nice. hopefully i have the strength to do this!!!

i love my fake nails! i like the sound they make when i tap them impatiently. and when i have to scratch something, it actually scratches. ive tried to pick my toenails a few times, but its been rather ineffective. they say it takes three weeks to break a bad habit. ive had these nails for a week now. since i got short, manageable ones, people think that theyre my real nails, and they dont look icky. theyre natural-colored and everything. and only a couple have fallen off… not bad for drugstore fake nails, eh?
