Cooking Class — 6 months ago
Well, our first cooking class was a blast. The teacher is an EXTREME “P” (in the Myers-Briggs sense), and as we were changing the quantities in the recipes, most of the class was everyone in it going up to her so she could modify the amounts on the fly. Still, I think we learned a great deal, and definitely had some delicious food. Aimée got pretty sick the day after, but I didn’t at all… I’ll be curious to see how everyone else in the class was.
We made a Dahl Curry, and next week we’ll be buying her recipe book, as well as a bunch of ingredients. I look forward to trying this one at home, once we get a blender. My favourite of the dishes we tried was the Dahl Potato curry, which was nice and spicy., with a rich blend of flavours.
If only my mouth weren’t still sore from Saturday’s Kung-Fu self-punch-to-the-face, I’d be able to enjoy eating that much more.
Among other things, I’m psyched to be able to start knowing EVERYTHING that I’m eating – not wondering what the assorted ingredients mean and are in there fore, but knowing why I put each thing in, and being able to track their exact values on dailyplate.
Next Week – Aloo Gobi
