These things are a complete lifesaver when I’m not feeling well (or am just hung over LOL). Normally I wallow around in bed, but now my bed is made, I’ve washed my face and brushed my hair, and eaten a fairly nutritious breakfast! Forgot to take my meds though, should have checked the control journal!!
Anyway, this goal is going quite well for me. My apartment is cleaner than it’s ever been, and it’s been clean for a month. I’m also just feeling a lot more positive and accepting about people in general, and yes, I’m attributing that partially to FlyLady. Also, the principle of doing it for 15 minutes has gotten me through many a painful night of studying, where I rotate between studying, cleaning/organizing, and breaks. Though I think I need to put another round of studying in there :)

go me!
I’ve been working on the beginner baby steps and some of the emails, I even did a few of Kelly’s missions this week. Mostly, I don’t have a lot of clutter. There are definitely some areas where I have clutter, but not too bad. I mostly need to organize and put away, and so I try to do that for a little while each day. My house looks soooo much better since I’ve been doing this. I am loving it. I even bought curtains, which I plan to hang today, if my sprained arm can handle it (or make a guy do it for me)

I’ve been keeping my sink shiny, and even doing swish & swipe for a couple weeks now. My bathroom counter doesn’t get too bad in a day since it’s just me using it, so I’ve been using the wipe to clean other parts of the bathroom. It’s getting cleaner and cleaner every day! In the kitchen, too, I have so little counter space that there’s always wipey left over, so I’ve been doing the stove, inch by inch. It’s more fun when you don’t have to do it perfectly all at once. When I would try to clean all at one time, I never could get it perfectly clean, and it seemed like all that work for just getting half way there. This way is so much easier.
I’m still forgetting to set my clothes out at night, but my face is getting washed and I’m waking up earlier.
And I’ve been “decluttering” a tiny bit a time each day, too. I put it in quotes because I don’t really have enough stuff for intense decluttering, mostly just stuff I actually need sitting around in the wrong places. So I put it near where it needs to go, and once everything is close and grouped together I’ll start organizing the individual areas.
Soon my house will be clean and then what will people think!!

Laid out my clothes last night and OH WHAT A DIFFERENCE. My shirt is ironed and I’m wearing jewelry. And makeup. And my hair is blowdried. Yes, this is all because of FLYlady. woooohooo
Also have kept the sink shining and swiped down the shower this morning, and the sink and counters, too. Need to get the toilet brush set up in its soapy water container and give the toilet a quick and through cleaning and then that will be on the list as well.
and I’ve started lounging around in a cute (but comfy) top and skirt instead of just an old t-shirt. So if anyone cute knocks on my door by accident, I’ll be ready!
Also, just looking around I can see tiny glimpses of how nice it will be to have a clean house. It is slow going, but that is what wins the race :)
I am a neat person!

cleaned my bathroom counter/sink and tub last night…but it still doesn’t seem super clean. The enamel or paint in the sink is chipped, and the counters are painted formica (seriously!) and there is mold or something INSIDE the faucets so they aren’t clear. The shower probably just needs to be done again. oh and my rusty water makes the curtain a lovely orange. (GO UT). And it’s an apartment, so none of it will get fixed.
BUT I’m just going to swish and swipe and hope for the best and maybe in a month or something, it will be time to clean it again and it can get cleaner. I mean for the past 4 months it has been covered in gunk and hair so why would I complain now that it’s much cleaner?
also highly tempted to shine my teapot but I think that’s a bit perfectionist, so IN A MONTH if I still want to.
need to clean the toilet tonight, it is not so bad.

ok sink is shining, also ran around picking stuff up while treating myself to a face masque. I really want to do my bathroom sink now, but I don’t know how to clean it! (I AM SERIOUS). I think my mom said to use scrubbing bubbles, so hopefully I will make it to Target tomorrow to grab some (also energy efficient lightbulbs woop).
Also, I am going to cheat and not wear lace up shoes when I am at home. I really hate wearing shoes. Oh god. Especially lace up ones. Maybe they would keep me off the computer, though…Maybe if I can find some that are ok…

I shined my sink last night. It looks pretty good, I have to say! I do have some dirty dishes sitting on the counter now, though. I think I might take my drying rack out of the other side and either use the dishwasher as a drying rack or just dry the dishes by hand and put them away. I also made my bed this morning, and put away the clothes I left on the floor last night (while I was brushing my teeth).
I am a neat person!

Haven’t shined my sink yet because I bought the bleach at 10pm last night. BUT the sink has remained cleared out for the past week or so. I’ve started making my bed again. I’ve also been putting stuff away when I brush my teeth or just between other activities.
I’m a neat person!
