microwaving my lean cuisine dinnners instead of cooking them in my conventional oven. I wonder how much, if any, money a person could save by using their microwave oven nightly versus heating their conventional oven? I just always had this idea in my head that tv dinners tasted better from the oven than the microwave but that might just be in my head. Any opinion?
I appreciate advice on this or any other saving technieques.

I’ve been pondering ideas and trying small things. My friend, Celtic_Christian, told me about a site where you can get recipes and other ideas for saving money. Here is the URL:
http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/recipeindex.htm
I haven’t looked around on it fully yet but did see some recipes that I think look nice!
Here are some ways I’ve tried to save money recently:
1. Eating out less
Rationale: I can make tasty meals at home that are better for me as well as less expesnsive!
2. Cutting down on my washing (both dishwashing and laundering).
Rationale: By minimizing the small loads and doing larger loads I can save on hot water used per week in my house. Also, by handwashing the dishes i use I can save on running the dishwasher!
3. Using my internet phone for all local calls and long distance calls. The only time I used my landline is for toll free calls because I found out my phone provider is charging me for each and every local call I make. Only 9 cents per call but still, it’s something!
4. Be more aggressive with my 8.5 interest rate students loans! I realized that I was paying so much in interest. I’d really like to wack these down, that’s why I have a whole seperate goal for it.
5. Win the lotto ;-)
6. Find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow ;-P
OK, that’s it for now. Good luck to everyone with this goal!
Cheers,
Sissy
