Show something I love or I’m proud for this 43Show and Tell

I know this is very cliché, but I just can’t help it. My dog is a mixed breed: German Shepard, Labrador & Flat-coated Retriever, English Setter and Norwegian Puffin Dog. She likes to look at the other dog eating before she eats her own food. If you feed her something from your hand, she will tilt her head if it’s hard to reach, and take it slowly.

When she’s been in a cage at my work, she gets so excited when I take her out that she has to find something to carry in her mouth: Anything! Usually a bit of fabric or just dog hair. She gets so excited when she comes home to my boyfriend, that she runs around him and tries to jump on him, which she knows isn’t allowed. So she sits with her ears clinged to her head and you can see how she’s trying to stay calm enough for him to pet her, until she can’t take it anymore, and jumps on him anyway.

She loves to run. She loves other Setters, but also other dogs that will run along with her. She cuddles. If I’m lying on my side, she comes over and spoons me. She likes to lie infront of the fireplace to the point where I have to drag her away cause it’s too hot and she’s panting like crazy.

She loves her doggie sister, a 10 month older Labrador Retriever, called Pippi. They play like real friends, except when there’s food around..

It’s very obvious what she’s thinking. She can stare at a bug for several minutes, just staring and staring and staring.

In the morning her ears have a strange shape, like a bob (the hair style), and she’s asking if she can come in bed with us.

She doesn’t like to have her claws trimmed. She loves to swim, but is afraid of going in the water if it’s more than 20 cm deep by the waterside.

She’s very ditzy and can trip in stairs and while doing a sharp turn. She’s cute like that, and I love her with all my heart.

(Thanks for the 1 cheer!)

My long standing pride 8 months ago

I’ve had this goal on my list for a long time. I’ve hesitated to close it out, because it kept evolving through my life’s activities, challenges and triumphs. However, one thing has always remained clear—this goal while changing in quality and experience is never altering in course.

I am so very proud of my man.

I know it sounds trite and perhaps weak to some, but I feel such a welling sense of pride when I recount that for whatever reason, he cherishes me in a way I have never experienced.

We took this picture this morning, hands clapsed in bed with the morning light starting to stream in through the wooden window shutters. We were enjoying the early springtime weather and the dappling sunlight, and the day was full of promises of us to ponder.

The evening is settling in, and as always, my pride has not diminished. He is my unrelenting source of admiration.

This goal was really just a bandwagon that I jumped on. I’m cleaning up my goals, so this one is coming off the list.

Outside the box 1 year ago

I am proud of myself for thinking outside the box. Let me give you an example. I have fallen in love with a Moroccan guy.
Society, some friends and familymembers had trouble with this; but that didn’t stop me from doing what felt right. I have always been one to follow my instincts and for me that’s the only way to go.

In this day and age people are so judgemental even paranoid and don’t take time to really learn about different cultures. People can be very xenophobic….

Anyway what I am trying to say is…don’t let people influence your way of thinking, go with what feels good to you….

Well, I am not really sure, how this works. But I know exactly what I want to show. And what else it would be, than my little cousin? He is only 2 and a half, but anyone would be proud of him. I am sure :)

I may do this again... 1 year ago

...but right now I need space on the list, so I’m putting this in the “completed” pile.

My new website: GoCaseyGo.net 2 years ago

I’ve had this goal on my list forever now and although there are so many things/people I love and so much that I’m proud of… I wanted to hold onto this goal for something really special.

And it’s this, my new website.

Are you rowdy enough for it? The first post is called Puking and Laughing.

Now, GO!

(PS: This website would not exist if Michael hadn’t decided to take me under his web-savvy wing. So praise be to Michael. He’s my hero.)

(PPS: For some reason, when I previewed this entry, a random picture of dolphins appeared along with it. I dunno if it’s gonna do that when I actually save this entry, but I find that ridiculously funny.)

two things 2 years ago

A picture from before I took digital photos has now been scanned for the 43 Things Show and Tell!

Two things I love and I am proud of are in this picture.

One is my son. This was taken when he was a few months old. The chubby baby pictured is now a skinny 6-year-old! Loved him then, love him now. Proud of him then, proud of him now. I actually have many cuter shots of him, but I chose this one because…

The second is the sweater he’s wearing. I made it. It’s by far the most complicated thing I’ve ever knitted. Lots of fancy stitches (far more than you can see in the picture). I love how it turned out, and I’m really proud of myself for sticking with the project. It took forever, I had to concentrate really hard, and I had to redo sections at times. But I did it.

I hope that that I can teach the child I love how to accomplish things, even very hard things, and to be proud of himself for what he does.

I also knit the afghan he’s lying on

I love my art... 2 years ago

and I’m proud that I took some time tonight to practice it, even if it is computer generated practice.

You can find my work here.

I was inspired by Cathibeth’s artwork and had it in mind when doing this. I love abstract art more and more nowadays, and think it is fun.

I did have in mind to “display” my secret project completion for this goal, but it looks like it may be quite some time until I’m able to resume it.

The Hawk. Or more correctly, a 1989 Honda Hawk GT. V-twin 647cc engine. Single-sided swing arm by ELF racing. In stock form, a capable, fun little machine. One, however, that just cries out for that personal touch.

So, with a shop manual, a few basic tools, and the collective knowledge of some fellow Hawkers I got to work.

Stock bias-ply tires replaced with Avon Azaro radials.
Forks rebuilt with Progressive springs, Race Tech seals, Gold Valve cartidge emulators, custom cut spacers.
Stock exhaust replaced with Hindle Stealth can.
Airbox removed, and stock filter replaced with K&N.
Carburetor rejetted with Factory config 3 jets, resulting in about 30% more horsepower over stock.
Original shock replaced with Progressive internal reservoir, fully adjustable shock.
Custom chain guard.
Smog elements removed.
License plate holder and light removed, and rear fender bobbed.
Stock turn signals removed, replaced with signals from a Buell Lightning.
Saddle foam resculpted.
Stock mirrors replaced with bar end mirrors.
To the naked stock bike, mounted a Spec-II fairing, painted grey granite, and tank and rear cowl painted to match over the stock red.

Hear it roar.
