Our house is currently on the marketing so I’m assuming we could have viewings every day which means I’m making sure the house is clean and tidy every morning before leaving the work. Yes it takes too much effort in the mornings, but it is worth it when I get home. Perhaps by the time we’ve sold it being tidy will be habit.

I’m still getting stuff done, but it only half hearted. I need to focus a little more. Perhaps I need to reread the books to enthuse myself again.
The first book I read my Getting things done by David Allen http://www.davidco.com/
I haven’t read an organisational book like it before. It works from a bottom up rather than top down approach. So when anything occurs to you that you should do it you write it down. The idea being once it is written down you stop worrying about it.
You get a very long list of things to do, but you sort it by things that need doing on a specific day, as soon as possible and things you may like to do in the future. Then each item on the asap list is sorted by context – the place you would do the task or the equipment you need to do it. This means when you are buy a computer you can sort your list and only look at those tasks which you need a computer for and not get distracted by everything else.
At work, I found the concept of writing everything down and having different lists for things I want to do know and in the future wonderful, but the concepts didn’t work as well. Mainly because I spend most days in the office in front of a computer.
However I could not get it working at home and I believe if it is a good system it should work at home and at work.
But some good ideas to keep
but about two months ago I deceided to buy three new books on time organisations Getting Things DoneThe Now HabitDo It Tomorrow and Other Secrets of Time Management
The only one which was disappointing was The Now Habit, maybe I don’t actually procrastinate as much as I thought I did. However the two were great and had some really interesting ideas in which I am experimenting with.
So far I have found it much easier to implement the ideas at work then at home.
