have multiple streams of passive income

But I found someone to sublet my apartment while I’m away. Like I said it’s not exactly income cause I have to pay that rent anyway, but it still feels good that I’ll have that extra money without having to really work for it :)
I need to start thinking about how to do this. In order to do what I want in life I think I’ll need passive income coming in. I would love to have the time to work on projects without constantly worrying where my next rent money is going to come from.

The business is starting to happen, slowly putting money into other things to generate income and growth. I haven’t achieved this goal in any sense of really completing it, but have set myself up to achieve it, and since this is really a longer term project I’d rather have other more timely things on my list.

But I am not giving up. I just going to continue doing what I have already done to reach this objective.

While not exactly what this goal was about I have embarked on another source of passive income – at least semi-passive.

I have some of my money invested a little conservatively in stocks that pay dividends. While I would like that dividend income now, I decided it was better for me to sign up for the company’s dividend reinvestment program whereby the dividends buy additional shares of the company.

It’s a small level of financial activity, but much more than if I spent that money on a little retail therapy. Most of the stocks that offer dividend reinvestment are blue chips.

While doing other things, several things from my eBay store sold.

Unlike a bricks and mortar retail situation where I would have to sit in the store all day, e-commerce allows me to do other things while sales are going on. Okay, I have to pack and ship, but then again, I referred to this as semi-passive.

I was actually working on my “get abs” goal when these sales happened!

Other than real estate which seems to be the big source of passive income discussed by the “buy my plan for $69.99 by calling this toll-ree number” crowd, what other streams of income are we seeking? What sources have we created? What can we do today to set us on the course of having those streams of income?

One of the passive streams of income is interest and dividends. One of the way to tap into this stream is to have assets that generate interest or dividends. I read the Automatic Millionaire and have savings and retire money pulled from my checking account on a regular basis. While that passive income won’t start for several years, it will be worth somethingdoing something in the future.
