I was born GREAT! hahaha. No, really, I was.
I have never been a shy person and I have always wanted to do my best at everything I do.
I am not afraid to do my best while speaking in front of hundreds, or thosands, or millions of people. I am such a HAM and I know this.
Besides, I had to get some of these old antiquated goals off of my list for 2008.

I’m no longer going to track this goal on 43 Things. My Toastmasters membership should take care of the motivation and keep track of my progress.

~ John Lee ~ setting my sights lower so I can set them higher
Of course I am going to continue to strive to become better, but, based on the feedback and affirmation I have received recently I think I have done this!
I was asked to do a “special presentation” at my Saturday Toastmasters groups annual holiday breakfast (I was the only speaker!) and was also asked to speak in church today for the “Lessons And Carols” service. My last two evaluations at Toastmasters were really great as well.
I am going to continue to speak and push myself into new styles of speaking, stepping further and further outside my comfort zone!

Well, I’ve done it! I made my Icebreaker speech last night, and it was well received. It was not the best presentation I’ve given ever, but I could make the audience laugh and wow. I made a mistake or two, but I smoothed it over.

I’m on the speaking schedule of both of my Toastmasters clubs! I know that I will start with the Storytelling manual but will be working on some of the other manuals as well.
Storytelling is a fun manual. I did this manual with BIA Toastmasters in San Diego and loved it so much I had to do it again!
First speech : December 4th

I ordered several of the advanced Toastmasters manuals which hopefully will arrive soon.
I cannot wait to work on Storytelling – such a FUN manual! But in the interest of stepping outside my comfort zone I plan to do a lot of the more technical (vs entertaining) manuals.
Looking forward to pushing myself on this one!

At my first Toastmasters meeting as a member I got the job as timekeeper! Learning by doing, indeed.
