Even though I’ve come to terms with the loss of Pluto, I still get sad when I read a book written prior to this decision. It pains me to hear of this “planet” Pluto. What planet, I think bitterly to myself. Pluto was robbed of that title. What a shame!

Screw the IAU Pluto! Don’t let those other planets bully you around, you are just as good as they are.

Hazelnutnut is a romantic tree hugging self knower.
The schools will have to buy new textbooks, maps, and models. Some teachers will be behind the times and not realize that it has changed until one of her students tells her, and even then she might not understand her mistake. In terms of my own day to day life, it isn’t going to be a huge difference.
At the conference, the guy who made the announcement did say that in a few billion years astronomers will reclassify Pluto as a planet. Hooray!
