Reading about Jimmy Hendrix and, after watching a documentary of his performances throughout England and the US last night, I found to be this to be of utmost trivialistic importance here at 43T…
(quote from wikipedia)
“Jimi began tinkering with different combinations of musicians and instruments, and modern electronic effects. For example, Dave Mason, Chris Wood and Steve Winwood from the band Traffic, drummer Buddy Miles and former Dylan organist Al Kooper, among others, were all involved in the recording sessions. This was one of the other reasons that Chandler cited as precipitating his departure. He described how Hendrix went from a disciplined recording regimen to an erratic schedule, which often saw him beginning recording sessions in the middle of the night and with any number of hangers-on.
Chandler also expressed exasperation at the number of times Hendrix would insist on re-recording particular tracks – the song “Gypsy Eyes” was reportedly recorded 43 times. This was also frustrating for bassist Noel Redding, who would often leave the studio to calm himself, only to return and find that Hendrix had recorded the bass parts himself during Redding’s absence.”

FlyGirl is having a wet day in Houston.
Well, since being invited by DJ to be awesome, I have been under a weight—what a thing to live up to! And how does one set about being awesome? Most of the people I know who are awesome didn’t set out to be awesome, they set out to do something else and became awesome in the process, if seems. However, I have done something recently which is awesome, at least for me.
When I came to this company, I was only planning to stay in my position a half a year or a year and then move on in the company to a position better suited to what I really wanted to do. But then 9/11 happened and it seems I have been stuck in the same position for the past six years. There hasn’t even really been opportunities to move anywhere while the company was in the survival mode.
But this past year, positions have been coming available and I have applied for a few—none very enthusiastically. Until the week before last, when I read the posting of the perfect position for me. Since that time, I have single-mindedly devoted myself to landing this job, including learning who the hiring director is and quietly but insistently making myself known to him by delivering my resume to him personally rather than waiting for HR personnel to do it. I am giving myself an overhaul in the wardrobe department, doing research to brush up in areas where I might be a little deficit, and doing practice interview techniques with my current supervisor to get ready for the interview. So far, I haven’t been invited to interview, but I am going to be ready when the invitation comes!

Deni H is juggling a lot of balls right now.
just from the invitation. :D I think this goal is accomplished because of what I’ve done this weekend…which I cannot go into ever, but let’s just say I made it through a very tough, challenging situation and am in the process of making a big decision. I’m very proud of myself, and I’m considering this an awesome thing.
