Past movies of the year plus I've been watching so many movies before school starts! 15 months ago

1. Batman: Dark Knight Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, need I say more?
2. WALL-E Adorable robot love movie thrown in with save the earth kind of theme. Must own!
3. Love Guru Not one of Myers better films but a few laughs, plus saw it with my sister, brother-in-law and niece.
4. Swing Vote Kevin Costner was pretty good in this, the daughter was awesome and sadly the state of voting in this country seems to mimic the feelings of Bud in this film.
5. Nim’s Island Jodie Foster, Gerard Butler and Abigail Breslin were a great cast, great premise/plot and honestly I couldn’t seem to get enough of all the animals interacting with the humans in the wild.
6. Step Brothers Will Ferrell and Reilly were great together, albeit cheesy, corny and jackasses in other parts, definitely good for a few laughs.
7. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Most of the same ensemble, archaeologists kid takes over in this one-not as great to me, but had some wonderful scenery and action sequences.
8. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Harrison Ford and Shia LeBeouf were great in this, I loved the father-son talks and discussions.
9. Mamma Mia! I enjoyed this, beautiful scenery, great cast and dancing with singing. Good intro to ABBA too!
10. Hancock Will Smith put on a good show in this, I was surprised by the plot changes, and enjoyed some of Hancock’s stunts/savings as well as with how it ultimately ended. Different but in a good way.
11. Space Chimps This was not an entirely voluntary movie going experience-I took my niece and a friend of hers. It did provide a few laughs at the chimps and Zartog though.
12. Hellboy II: The Golden Army Previews gave away a great deal of this movie, it was more of a love/baby story line with some good action thrown in. Somewhat disappointing though.
13. You Don’t Mess with the Zohan Adam Sandler was funny in this, I enjoyed the crude humor and the moral of the story as well. Worth seeing and possibly owning.
14. Kung Fu Panda Jack Black was quite good in this, I enjoyed Dustin Hoffman as the master and the whole scene between the two over the food was awesome.
15. Miss Conception Heather Graham was funny in parts in this, the way things would almost work out and then wouldn’t were classic for the movies I’ve seen her in lately.
16. The Incredible Hulk Edward Norton did this character justice and Liv Tyler backed him up. I really enjoyed this when I thought I wouldn’t.
17. Wanted Angelina Jolie and the guy from Atonement were interesting at times, and I could see a likening in it to Fight Club but other than that, wasn’t that great until the ending-then it was a Wham, Bam thank you Ma’am!
18. Felon Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff kicked it in this one-about prison and how screwed up our justice system can be. Scary thoughts on how people in power can abuse it.
19. Made of Honor Patrick Dempsey was hot in this and I enjoyed the guy doing the chasing in this love movie. Great scenes of other countries.
20. What Happens in Vegas Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher was great-I enjoyed the movie for the laughs and comedy of the two.
21. Sex and the City: The Movie Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and of course Chris Noth(Mr. Big!) -I love you! I’m so glad you all got together finally and made this movie-I’ve missed the show and felt so much happiness while in the theater watching this movie! One can tell I am a Sex and the City fan!
22. Lost Boys-The Tribe Corey Feldman and Corey Haim team up again for the sequel. This definitely is not as good as the old Lost Boys, but parts of it are great and echo parts of the original. Aidan does a cover of “Cry Little Sister” which is fabulous.
23. Smart People with Dennis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker was off in parts but had good moments.
24. Wristcutters: A Love Story Dark sort of movie-different than what you’d expect but totally worth it. Worth owning.
25. Chaos Theory Ryan Reynolds-yum and completely absorbing in this-enjoyed the Rowboat Dancing scene tons! Soundtrack wasn’t shabby either.
26. Forgetting Sarah Marshall The hate it when you breakup movie and see that person later and they’re great. I enjoyed the main characters metamorphasis and the movie.
27. Baby Mama I love Amy Poehler and Tina Fey together-they are a great comedy duo. I enjoyed the movie.
28. The Bank Job Jason Stratham was great-enjoyed the story line-couldn’t get away with it now though! More of a thinking in parts movie than a fast action-go go movie. Worth seeing in my humble opinion.
29. Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day Fabulous movie-how I feel so often in my own life and to see it to another in a different time period lifted my spirits. Wonderful and plan to own.
30. Stop-Loss Film about the Iraq war soldiers-moving in parts and good eye candy.
31. The Eye Jessica Alba played this role well and not as scary as I’d expected. The ending was choice and the twists and turns made it worth watching.
32. Strange Wilderness Waste of money. I hoped to find some laughter but overall just general stupidity and felt cheated out of my dvd rental from Blockbuster.
33. Over Her Dead Body I laughed a few times with this one-enjoyed the whole premise.
34. In Bruges I wouldn’t mind going for a visit-but of course the lines that stick with me tend to be about the little people and must quote Colin Farrell-”Fucking Bruges!” Dark but surprisingly funny in parts.
35. Fool’s Gold Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey echoed How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days moments to me-was good for some laughs and basic plot.
36. Definitely, Maybe Ryan Reynolds was yummy again and I enjoyed the whole convoluted in parts story line and the chance at love.
37. Be Kind Rewind Awesome and plan to own.
38. The Other Boleyn Girl Great historic sort of movie and story line. Worth seeing.
39. Penelope Christina Ricci was okay in this, enjoyed some of the scenes.
40. Mad Money Great film-enjoyed the lead actresses and the thought of all that money as mine!
41. 27 Dresses I enjoyed this film-was more lighthearted and I needed that at the time.
42. Atonement Depressing-severely.
43. Revolver Jason Stratham and unexpected switch-a-roos and deals but good plot and ending.
44. I am Legend Will Smith-interesting film, so sad about the dog part and good ending.
45. Juno I enjoyed this film, the soundtrack and Ellen Page was fantastic. Plan to own.
46. Alvin and the Chipmunks I enjoyed this more than I thought I would-gimmicky in parts but overall good.
47. P.S. I Love You Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank-((big sobby sort of sigh)) love story to end all others. Worth seeing.
48. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street Johnny Depp-gory story but good in parts.
49. The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep I enjoyed this film and even teared up in parts especially towards the end. Laughed at the antics of the water horse and how adorable it was at different stages. Definitely plan to own.
50. Bee Movie Surprisingly good-possibly plan to own.
51. Fred Claus Funny in parts-sad in others and stalls in a few-but overall worth seeing.
52. Beowulf Ray Winstone was yummy-wished they’d show more of his ahems….
53. Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman were ok in this, I ultimately enjoyed it even though it was a bit sad and depressing in parts.
54. Enchanted Excellent-plan to own.
55. August Rush Wonderful cast-definitely plan to own.
56. The Mist Good plot and Stephen King knows how to write a hair tingler. The end got me though…it’s a wtf moment and an ah crap all rolled together.
57. Lars and the Real Girl Ryan Gosling is convincing and great in this. Funny plot and wonderful metamorphasis overall.
58. Dan in Real Life Steve Carell is quite good in this and I enjoyed it-plan to own.
59. Chapter 27 Jared Leto was creepy and freaky in this. Monotones and breathiness collide to make the ending build to the explosion pretty much everyone expects.
60. Good Luck Chuck Dane Cook and Jessica Alba were great together and definitely plan to own this movie!
61. Meet Dave Eddie Murphy and all those who were his crew in Dave were hilarious. I especially enjoyed the crew member who realized he loved musicals and things associated with gay men! Gina’s driving towards the end also made me laugh alot. Worth seeing!
62. Date Movie Spoof movie, but not worth seeing again.
63. Partition India and the continuing history of violence and hatred. Blindsided hatred on both sides while very few seem to want to break the cycle… A truly lovely love story between a Hassock man and Indian/Pakistani woman buds and grows in this, with a saddening ending.
64. Son of Rambow Simply loved this movie-the friendships made and learning who to trust and lean on. Marvelous. Must own.

Life is like a box of chocolates 23 months ago

you never know what your going to get…

Forrest Gump is one of my most favorite movies. On a snowy Friday afternoon it is a good movie to watch while I bake some holiday goodies.

I just love the sound track too!

Meet John Doe~ 23 months ago

Frank Capra has been my favorite director all of my life. I stayed home this morning to regroup.

For some unknown reason a small voice told me to watch Meet John Doe

I am very glad I did. Do you know Gary Cooper grew up in Montana? His father was a Montana Supreme Court Judge.

The Mist~ 23 months ago

all I can say is I love Stephen King’s books. I had not read this story and frankly am not really into sci-fi horror movies so I didn’t think I would like it very much.

I was wrong. I get choked up just thinking about it.

Letting Go 2 years ago

Well, 1) I don’t watch enough movies to make this worth it and 2) I have a list of movies I’ve seen on AllConsuming, so I’m dropping this goal from the list.

The Last Holiday 2 years ago

Predictable yet very fun! It was a fun reminder to live more, laugh more and not be afraid to be who we want to be. Not to be morbid, but we are all going to die sooner or later.

A relaxing Sunday afternoon get away.

Elizabethtown 2 years ago

Missed this one until this evening. A very inspiring look at how we deal with supposed failures, death and life.

If you have never taken a road trip across America you truly are missing a beautiful experience.

nice soundtrack too. :)

30 Days of Night 2 years ago

What to say about this movie, as a myriad of adjectives come to mind? Disturbing in parts, touching in others, believeable and unbelievable, as you go along the plot with the characters from disbelief to horror. Josh Hartnett is convincing as the town’s sheriff with his band of rebels, who want to fight for their lives and survive the vampires. 30 Days of Night has shades of being believeable which for me helps the movie plot as well. The story isn’t slow or too fast, I feel like it’s a great idea that was well played. The sacrifices astound me and the ending is just wonderful even if it’s not what you were looking for.

It’s not just a scary horror movie, it has parts that make you think and wonder. Go see it!

This afternoon - City of Angels 2 years ago

One of my all time favorites.

After my near death experience in 2003 I know we have angels with us always. We are never alone.
