problem... 2 years ago

none of the local video rental places has all the james bonds available. This means that either I have to buy them or download them… :(
The whole box set costs about 200€, which is more then I want to pay for it. buying individual dvds is a also stupid. difficult situation!

2. From Russia with Love 2 years ago

I’ve started on this but not in the order I had planned.

I rented ‘From Russia with Love’ which is #2 in the Bond series…I relied on the advice given to me by the movie rental staff. It turns out that Dr. No was actually the first Bond movie ever made.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Bond#Official

However, according to wikipedia ‘From Russia with Love is the novel credited with sparking the James Bond craze when it was listed as one of John F. Kennedy’s favourite books.’

I started watching Dr. No last night but didn’t finish. I’ll watch the rest tonight and I already have ‘Goldfinger’ to watch afterwards.

My local movie rental place doesn’t seem to have the whole series. I’m going to have to visit other stores to find the movies so I can watch them chronologically. This may take some time.

I’m glad I decided to watch this series, I’ve already got a free movie rental because of the number of movies I’ve rented.

I want to watch all the 007 movies in the order they were made 2 years ago

This was inspired because I live a few minutes drive from the Estoril Casino and Hotel Palacio where Ian Fleming stayed for a while during WWII and where he reportedly wrote a 007 novel during his stay

I’m especially looking forward to watching ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’

The following has been copied from :
http://www.mi6.co.uk/sections/articles/movies_pretitle_sequences.php3?t=&s=
Location: Lisbon, Portugal
Bond (George Lazenby) races his new Aston Martin though the hills of Portugal and down to the beach. On the shore Bond watches as a woman wades into the sea, fully dressed in a ball gown. 007 soon realizes the woman plans to commit suicide, and races after her. He saves the woman from drowning but is soon pounced on by several thugs. While Bond fights, the woman gains consciousness and returns to her car. The titles role after the infamous line, “This never happened to the other fellow.”

and ‘Casino Royale’

From: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0381061/trivia

The Casino Estoril of Lisbon, Portugal was the inspiration for the casino gambling scene and title for the Ian Fleming novel of “Casino Royale”. This was a location where German agents would frequent during World War II. On his visit, Ian Fleming bancoed three times and lost three times, yet little did he know that his future James Bond novel title would be made as a movie three times.
