Rebecca is Nano-ing.
Until 11/30, I am no longer using contractions. It will make a really bad novel even worse, but I need every word I can get right now.
November 21 = 16K words = 9 days of hellish writing ahead.
LOL

goodwolve You are a Romantic Organized Believer today.
I don’t think this is in the cards for me this year- it was one of my 40/40 challenges, but I am just not feeling it. Maybe I am not a novel writer. Which is ok. I’ll think about it for a few more days before I officially pull the plug.

Not from Nano, but from my first draft. The whole thing was torturous to write, I hated my main character, the plot wasn’t going anywhere.
Day 3: Starting again with a whole different genre, point of view, main character and plot.
This is supposed to be at least a little bit fun, and my first try was So. Bad.

Well, not really, because I know it’s all part of the process. But trust me when I say it’s astoundingly bad writing.

The only preparation I’m doing is a bare-bones plot, a vague idea of the main character, and reading “Bird by Bird” by Anne Lamott.
This will be an exercise in true creativity – letting my mind go free.

Single mom and 21yo son are contestants on the Amazing Race. It will let me throw in my trip from Thailand from this past summer and maybe help me work out some stuff in an autobiographical kind of way. :-) Feeling good about it!

I was a winner my first year (in 2006) and dropped out in 2007 and 2008. I think 2009 will be my year. Better start preparing. Are any of my previous teammates around?
i’m so super busy with work and school that i don’t know how i’m going to pull this off, but i’ll try anyway. maybe i’ll come up with a plot, or maybe i’ll just write tens of thousands of rambling mess. at this point, i just want to write.
it’s been a great ride. my final word count was 27,093, which was 2,615 words and I have most of a novel sitting somewhere between my head and the page. (i plan to finish that transfer in december) so i call this a complete success and with any hope i’ll be back to put myself through it again next year.
life is good.
