Ask the Robots to *please* restore all of the pages on a person's aggregated feed

anything, but I did it!

It doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. I guess all those old family photo albums (an analogy of Ellie’s Deni’s) are lost forever.

I was hoping to be able to mark this complete by the time of my 1 year anniversary, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.

entries and comments up-to-date is bugging me more than only having the last week of recent entries!! :(

Hi yrush: Buster is working on this—it may take some time to get it back, but he’s definitely aware of the issue. Right now we’re trying to keep the sites up and improve performance. This page was a major offender in the site outages (an expensive query). We’ll get there … thanks for writing, Daniel

Here’s what I wrote:

Hi Daniel!

I just wanted to root you all on in finding a solution to the above goal “Ask the robots to please restore recent entries!” We all love this site and would do anything to help you guys out! Thanks for everything you all do!

I figured since everyone else probably already begged them to return recent entries, I’d root them on! Go Robots!

with photos in them, no longer have the photos! At least in the few entries I’ve looked at.

Anyway…having around 10 pages of past entries/comments is like that is all we have ever written. Ok, so we can look under goals for the entries made, but the comments are just as good as gone!

Here’s his response:

We had to take that down as it’s taking the site down. Buster tried to add it back today with some refactoring and we ran into the same issue. Right now we’re going to keep the site up for a while and find a way to add the aggregated feed back in it’s entirety. It does not seem trivial to me - so don’t think it’s done lightly. I miss it already, but it’s a computationally expensive query. I’m talking to Buster about this - it’s not too many people that use that feature (me and you, for example) but when robots crawl the site it destroys us.

So, slightly ironic that robots are destroying the Robots’ good work. Daniel also writes:

I have faith that they’ll figure out how to give this feature back to us. I just hope it’s soon!
