Speaking of social networking, I really like how easy 43 things makes it to sign into the site. I signed up just b/c I like Paul and the cost of doing so was simply clicking on a url in an email and then clicking on one more button. Very importantly, the system didn’t try to get me to go through any sort of registration process. I only uploaded my name and picture when I noticed that my name and picture didn’t look as nice as other folks’ in the team list. On the downside, I had to fiddle for a few minutes to figure out how to add my profile information once I decided I wanted to, but fixing that confusion would be pretty easy.
We should have an equivalent invitation process in h2o that requires no formal registration, for both discussion and project participation. If we have to have a name, maybe have the inviter (who is presumably much more motivated) enter a name for each invitee?
