Nine Down 4 weeks ago

I’ve started this again. I didn’t weigh when I started my diet two weeks ago, but I know I’ve lost seven between the first time I did weigh and today. I’m nine down from when I posted this goal many moons ago.

What has spurred me to do this is the chronic pain in my back. I can grab my stomach and pull it up in such a way that the weight is born by my arms instead of my back, and my back feels so much better.

That’s what I need to remember when those cravings hit.

I’m currently at 169 —from my original 178. It’s going very slowly, but steadily.

Twenty-two down 20 months ago

That’s a 3 pound gain from last week, but it’s understandable. Wednesday, I blew the diet at lunch and had lots of carbs and Tiramisu for lunch. Then Friday I allowed myself a non-diet day because I got off work early and did some touristy things around town. It was like a 4 hours vacation. This week, I hope I can avoid temptation.

Twenty-three down 20 months ago

Sunday is official weigh-in day. I usually weigh every day even though “they” say you’re not supposed to. But Sunday will be the real results day.

Today, I’m twenty-three down from when I started this goal. Twenty to go.

I’m 7 down from when I started dieting again last Sunday.

Time for some spring cleaning of the bod 20 months ago

Last time I started dieting in earnest, I was 11 pounds down from my high weight. That was a year ago.

This time, I started at 16 pounds down, so I’m happy to report I didn’t gain back *all* the weight I lost before.

I’m trying again. I lost 3 pounds since Sunday, so at this point I’m nineteen down. Twenty-four to go.

I get so close with this goal, and then I mess it all up. The first time, I was one pound away. The second time, two pounds away. Today, I’m 19 pounds away. I don’t want to change my eating habits. I do want to drink more water and exercise more. I’ll work on those habits. At the very least, that should slow down or stop the weight gain.

Plus one 2 years ago

Since my last post, not only have I not managed to lose any weight, but actually have gained one pound :( It’s really not that bad considering I have sometimes not eaten adequate portions —like ordering a bucket of popcorn at the theater—shared, but we still got a refill :P— or helping myself to the snacks mother has around. I guess what’s kept me from not gaining even more is the moderate exercise I do everyday.

Though I have fully stopped being tempted by mother’s nuts and ice cream and more, this has given me the opportunity to observe and be aware of the eatings habits I unfortunately inherited. As I’m currently reading French Women Don’t Get Fat, I am working hard on changing my habits. I had started doing so, but it’s just too easy to fall and get back into old habits, especially with temptations around.

This “plus one pound” is just an alarm to get back on track by eating right and keep exercising.

Forty-one down 2 years ago

Due to a virus or some bad food, I lost 3 pounds in the last 24 hours. I’ll take it. Two more to go.

Measurable goal 2 years ago

I’m adopting this goal to have a more measurable goal of losing weight and be healthy.

Although I’m more of a metric-kind-of-gal, I’m adopting this goal in the spirit of 43 Things —and because it’s more or less the weight I need to lose. Maybe an extra 10 pounds would be good, too, but I’ll be happy if I do get to drop the 43 :)

I’m already 4 pounds down my initial weight of 182, but I’m not going to take those into consideration. Given my actual weight of 178 – 43, my target weight shall be 135.
