Yay! Back in the Game 4 months ago

After nearly a year of back pain from doing the San Fran half last year, I bought new (amazing) running shoes and inserts today from the speciality shop…

and I bought a running log. Hopefully this will make me more accountable.

I’m looking to do another half marathon (Portland) in October, but will need to get on it yesterday for training…

I’m just glad it looks like I’m back into this.

Training 6 months ago

It’s been a long time and I remembered how well 43T worked for me in terms of accountability… along with my super awesome “I will finish the San Fran half marathon” sign which I hung up on the fridge that last time I ran.

Due to a back injury, I’ve been pretty much out of commission for running. I don’t think a full marathon can happen this year, but I’m slowly getting back into the pace, and there’s always november.

I printed out a training schedule for the office. So I sit there and stare at it… does that count?

Dusting off Runnin' Shoes 9 months ago

Ok so I did a half-marathon (half from hell, read about it) last year… seriously messed up my back, and feel pretty recovered. I’m going to start training (and not helping people move this time) for a full marathon in November.

Already picked out the marathon. Now it’s just time to get that mileage up.I want to start running on my lunch breaks, but that seems excessive.

I need to sign up for the half. 1 year ago

I just need to set a date again so I can do it again.

Yes yes yes! 1 year ago

First run in about two months with no pain what-so-ever.

Finally.

Wow, I just regained like 10 points to my sanity.

IT Band injury. 1 year ago

I’m out for a little bit again. Oh well atleast it wasn’t more serious.

Guess it’s back to spin classes for me for a while. Blah I’m bitter and depressed that I can’t run

I can't keep doing this 1 year ago

I woke up this morning (DAY OFF YAY) and decided to do a short, easy 2.5 hilly run just to break in my new running shoes.

Long story short, my back didn’t hurt, but the mysterious pain in my leg which I thought was a side-effect of my back returned. I figured it was a cramp, I mean it hurt but come-on. I’m not a girl. I’m not crying!!

Something snapped.

More specifically, I was running, it hurt… I felt a snap on the exterior of my knee area, my knee shot up to my chest and I hobbled home. I think I should just volunteer for the marathon so I can’t sign up in november.

Doing another half in november. 1 year ago

Start line is walking distance from my apartment. Why not?

I just cant do the full.

I've been out 3 weeks 1 year ago

Because of running on a messed up back. Things are (finally) starting to feel normal again. I’m thinking of signing up for the local half marathon (I was going to do a full, but I don’t think I want to train for 26 miles by Nov… I might be able to, but my back is screaming thinking about it).

I feel bad not running. I’ve gained weight (ew) and I just don’t feel as good about myself. My new job has changed my work hours so getting up (more) early to run is just such a struggle.

I need to get off my ass and do this again. Time to pick a date again.
