There is an upcoming series of workshops and movie nights being held at the Unitarian Universalist church I’ve been going to, about becoming an official “Welcoming Congregation” for LGBTQ individuals. The first workshop is next Sunday afternoon from 2-4 pm. I’m going to go, and I’m saying that here to commit myself to it.
I love this church, and this is one of the reasons. We all have work to do on becoming more open-minded.

of mine recently came out that he is gay so this makes this an even more important goal for me because I want to support and protect him.

is my humble opinion as an incurable romantic. Love is such a wonderful miraculous gift to us humans. Why soil it with small mindedness?

stop homophobia but do agree it is something that needs to be done. I have run into many situations in my life where someone I know is has something against someone just because they are gay. It is just not right. I will continue to voice how I feel and hope that will help.

Calling people on staying stuff like “thats gay” or, “What a queer idea” its such a little thing, but it does a lot.

To me, homophobia is about not understanding. I never considered myself homophobic, but I always thought that it couldn’t happen to me. Then within the span of 4 months I found out that 3 of my friends were gay, and I realized that we all encounted homosexual people, wether we know it or not.
To stop homophobia, I want people to try to understand. Meeting someone who is gay or having someone you know come out is probably the best way to change someone’s mind. Then, homosexuality isn’t an abstract concept, it’s real, just like the people around us.

Hmm I dunno how I can stop homophobia. I was asked to join by Vladivostok. I don’t have anything against homosexuals. I don’t think there’s anything wrong to love someone from the same sex.
Hmm I guess that I can start this goal with my friend. He’s a bit homophobic… I post some of my thoughts of this issue later when I have more time…

I’m glad this goal is getting a lot of cheers. I’m going to take it to the next level now and invite the people who cheer this goal to make it their goal too!
