This is a little more difficult during the summer because my youngest stays mostly with her dad, and my oldest is working and going to school. Now that school is back on, we are having our sushi nights. It also helps that I finally setup the wireless network in my house, so Katie comes over with her laptop and plays WOW. Emma’s birthday is coming up so we’ll have to think of something fun to do together.
We all went to have our hair “done” today. Katie had hers cut and colored. It’s all pretty for her birthday celebration (of course, I thought it was pretty before too!). Emma had hers colored and blown out. She looks way too old to be 13. Note to self: paste a sign to Emma’s chest on the cruise that says “I am 13 and my mother knows Tae Kwan Doe”. That should do it. I had my hair trimmed, nothing radical. Of course there wasn’t much there to cut anymore.
Then we went to our favorite place, sushi! Great evening all around.
I was feeling under the weather on Thursday and the girls brought me egg drop soup and attempted to cheer me up. It was very nice of them. :)
We went out last night to acquire dresses for the big 21st birthday bash. I good time was had by all (although Mom was teased mercilessly). :)
Also, last Sunday, Johnny invited all of us over for dinner. It was great! We all cooked (even me! LOL). The coconut shrimp was my favorite.
We played darts. It was the girls and myself against The Master Dartsman! We had a great time although we got beat. The kids played pool and got in the hottub. Oh, and we finished watching “Hitch”.
It was a very nice Sunday. Thanks Johnny! :)
I took Katie shopping for “business” attire. She is starting an internship this summer. Of course my youngest had to have a few things also. I got a lot of insight into Katie’s thought process concerning work by what clothes she picked and why. I’m very proud of her!! (obviously).
I took both my daughters to dinner and Jazz tonight. I went off my diet with chessy garlic bread and 1000 Chocolate chip cake, but it was a good time. Emma couldn’t sing this time because her throat is bothering her.
Emma had a great time at her prom. The whole lead up; finding just the right dress, etc, it was all a lot of fun. :)
Katie went with me last Saturday when I cut my hair and got a second piercing in my ears. I’m not sure if I would have had the nerve to do it without her support. We went for sushi afterwards and it was really nice.
I neglected to mention this before. Katie created a message board for the family. She called it “The Adventures of Me”. She and Emma are the admins, and we all post on there. All of us includes her godmother and her boyfriend. It’s a lot of fun. And I noticed that her boyfriend was a lot more comfortable talking to me on Saturday then he’d ever been before. I think it’s because of the joking around on the message board. They’ve been a couple for almost 7 years, but he always seemed uncomfortable around me (I am the mother-in-law, I guess). This is really great!
