10. Behind the Attic Wall, by Sylvia Cassedy

Book Five: Good to Great 1 year ago

It’s going to be impossible for me to read 45 books in the remaining six months of this year. I hope noone minds if I still keep plugging away on this goal here, even if I only end up reading 15-20 books.

Just completed book #5: Good to Great, by Jim Collins. Engaging, great read about what makes organizations go beyond mediocrity into excellence.

#4 1 year ago

Sea Wolf, by Jack London Really great read!

Book 3 1 year ago

7 habits of highly effective people, by stephen covey. Excellent book, but a time-consuming monster to get through.

Uh Oh - My things are all Intertwined! 1 year ago

I’m stuck on my second book (Seven Habits of Highly Effective People) at Chapter Two. The exercise at the end of the chapter is to ‘Write a Mission Statement’ and I’ve stopped reading to do that. I’m half-way through the mission statement now, but it’s a slow process.

Need to:
1) ‘Write Mission Statement’
2) Finish reading Seven Habits
-> ‘Personal MBA’ goal
-> ‘50 Books in 2007’ goal

Books 1 and 2 1 year ago

1) Dubliners, by James Joyce – A series of short stories. Generally they were good, some were endurance exercises.
2) The Power of patience, MJ Ryan – A practical book on being the value of being more patient.
