It was a neat idea…
...seemed like a pretty cool application.
But, I am content with simply turning off my computer when I’m not using it.

I think my computer is already energy efficient, so I’m taking this off the list.
put this on hold until they come out with something for OSX – I’ll keep checking back. I did send out a few invites though so at least I’ve done something for now…

And remember this is just this week and just us.
It makes me think more about the rest of my lifestyle (turning off lights when I’m not in a room, turning down the thermostat in winter, not using air conditioning in the car).
and I noticed that it turned my computer off, but not the monitor. It’s set to turn off the monitor after 2 minutes, but it never did…even after it turned off the computer. Anyone else have this problem?
This is so magnificently practical. I love it.

I downloaded the localcooling setup and I have the settings on custom (medium). Is there anything else I should do besides telling all my friends about this? I like that it shows you how many trees, KWh, and Gal you are saving.

Absnasm is so freaking happy!
I’ve saved a gallon of oil and just over a tenth of a tree, in just five days. Wow, it really brings home to you just how much energy we use. If my computer alone would have used a gallon of oil in one week, just in the time it’s been on and not in use, imagine how much all those computers left on at all times must be using.
Please, people, turn stuff off!
Team 43 Things, all together we have saved almost 8.5 gallons of oil and nearly a whole tree. We’re ranked number two. Nice work. And there are only 30 of us. More people should join us and get saving.
