LunaNueva is celebrating her 43rd year of life!
October: street concert of Kool & the Gang
November: having a stop in Mexico City (flying from Cancun to Seattle) and organizing a few friends to meet me to eat tacos and ice cream
December: turning 15,000 days old!

Tink is pleased with her progress.
...because I became quite ill in October, and subsequently spent until late January in the hospital.
Lots of new experiences (waking post-op with no pain meds due to a screwup with the morphine pump comes to mind, as does the whole process of adjusting to having an ileostomy—giving new meaning to the term “bag lady”), but I wouldn’t call ‘em “fulfilling” by a long shot.

December 2007

Travelling with my girl friends again. It’s our tradition to travel somewhere new before the end of the year, at least once a year. This year we picked Rai Ley. We didn’t plan much about the trip and let it be spontaneous. We just found our own way to get and meet each other there becuase we lived in different parts of Thailand.
I love traveling alone to meet my friends at the destination becuase while I was alone, I had more chance to talk to strangers. On this trip, I met a German guy on the bus, we talked on the bus and we exchanged phone number when he left the bus. He texted me few times and wanted to visit me at my shop during January but I declined him and told him that I was busy and I had a bf. So, he texted back to say “no worries” and disappeared.

Was my new and fulfilling experience for December. What a gorgeous, mysterious, magical place! If I could, I’d go back in a heartbeat.
This was a great goal John. Thanks for the invite. I’m looking forward to what the next three months hold in store… :)

December...
...was better than I’d imagined.
My plans of winter-avoidance came together in the end and I spent most of December in NZ. (A few days at the start were in Melbourne, catching up with friends)
Being back home is great. The food is awesome, people are friendly and I’ve enjoyed catching up with the rallies for Christmas.
But if I had to pick one experience out of the lot, it’d be the night spent in awe of the universe out under the stars chatting to someone I’d met about all sorts of rubbish. I don’t do it enough, but there’s something about the southern hemisphere sky that blows me away. That huge streak of the milky way, the southern cross, dozens of satellites, not to mention the numerous shooting stars.
Wow!

But I did accomplish this goal.
From starting a new business, to playing with my neice for the first time. It was an interesting 3 months to say the least, we’ll see what happens in the next three.

went sledding for the first time in years (!!!!) in december. i told my freind: “we parked near soldier field at about 10:30 at night and snuck onto a huge hill and sledded for about an hour and a half. and it was crazy fun. i can’t even explain. my ass hurts so much. it was great.”
i learned to begin to let go. i say begin because it’s a long road.
i began to full steam ahead sell my art (shows and online) and commit to it more fully.
i studied my ass off for my classes and actually got good grades (not bad, old man).
and i read everyone’s new experience in this goal and it very sincerely made me more awake and better for it.

This is definitely a challenge worth exploring…it gets you to think differently about your “routine” and helps you realize, or helped me anyway, that not everything has to be super serious or super big to be fulfilling.
