for the Engineers Without Borders conference in the Spring.
Friday I am going to an EWB benefit with two other engineers. Maybe there will be more information available at the benefit.

My interest in technologically bootstrapping the third world began in the 70s when I spent a month in East Africa and noticed families where all the labor of the family went into feeding that family. The image has stuck with me. Since the 80s I have worked to improve automated food processing in Europe and the Americas. I have noticed that conveyors allow the labor of a handful of people to produce food for many. I have thought many times that such technology in the third world could be a vital component of stimulating development. Thus, when I read ewedistrict’s goal, it resonated with me. I am happy now to be teamed with NOLAINVESTMENTS and I look forward to her perspective on our goal from her financial/land development/capital management background (if I am understanding her correctly). There are probably other pieces that we need also, and I am curious to see who else might join the team.
