I’ve never been much of a radical but recently I’ve tried to delete my facebook. Later, I realized it wouldn’t solve anything to delete it. It would continue to exist. It’s important to stand up for what you believe in but also important to know where to cut your losses. I want to stop fighting the system but instead learn how to live peacefully with it. It won’t take over my life, the same way I won’t erase it from mine. My goal is to enter a maximum of once every two weeks, when I absolutely need to, to get in touch with someone but otherwise I’d like to stay away from the bullshit people say about each other and the pictures I don’t want to see being posted. I’ve filtered most of that out by deleting people but things always seep through somehow. 22 months ago

I am temporarily trying not to use Facebook most particularly for lent but I feel it will be a rare and healthy transition for me.
Facebook has… tooken over my life (sad as that sounds)
And I would wake up to check my fb messages on my phone or check once more before I went to sleep.
That’s not healthy!!!!
So perfectly lent, comes along and I decided to challenge myself:
For 40 long days I will not be using Facebook and I will challenge myself but I refuse to not make it.
As a result I am on 43things.com now… hahaha 2 years ago

Everyday, when I come back from home, I want to do my homework. When I sit in my chair, there is my laptop right in my desk. Immediatly, I throwed my bag in the ground and went online on facebook. Well today, I was thinking, why am I always going on facebook? To see if someone replied to my messages? Well I thought about deleting my account, but it is not going to change a thing. I will always come back on anyway. My mom and dad hates the way I spend my time on facebook, I get so much bad grades. So one night, I went to my room, sat in the dark thinking : > And it is now that I am going to complete my task, if I use facebook more than 4 hours the week, I am going to suffer, and If I don’t use more than 4 hours the week, I win a new life. And my challenge is, to not use more than 12 hours of facebook for 3 weeks. Well before doing this task, I used facebook 8 hours the day.. Can you imagine that? Well I need a lot of people’s encourragment for this task.. Which my good luck 3 years ago

I like most people got pulled into the whole Facebook thing by friends. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing in the beginning.. A few months went by.. I would wake up – Check Facebook, Arrive at work – Check Facebook, Come Home – Check Facebook.. you get the picture. It has gotten so bad.. I have been dreaming about bloody Facebook! Beginning of this year I deleted all my contacts, removed all wall posts etc and deactivated my account. I must admit I have had a few withdrawls (oh that’s bad haha!) but I am no longer waking up and wanting to hop straight online and check for friend requests, wall posts etc.. 4 years ago

Yeah, I’ve been on and off Facebook for a while. Last year I deactivated it for half the year before activating it again.
I guess right now it’s got worse, the balance. I’m spending time more and more on Facebook and it’s just ruining my life.
I’m deactivating it again. It’s not useful. It won’t improve my communication. In fact, deactivating it will improve my communication, as I’m forced to ask the actual person face to face. 4 years ago
