Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

mochomitoariesMy First Children's Book

I finally finished my First Children’s Book.
Right now it’s available through Createspace – but it will also be available through Amazon very soon – in about 3 days they said.

It’s Titled: Birdies Traveling Circus by Alex Perez

It’s small – but cute and it has coloring pages in the back for the young reader.

I’m looking forward to starting my next children’s book – I already have the idea and half of it written – it’s the drawing that takes a little bit longer. 3 months ago

11krageA little behind where I wanted to be

So my 87k first draft is still being edited. It’s already a very different book from the one it was, and a lot better. I estimate another month or two. I want it ready by the end of Jan at the very latest.

I’m finishing up planning my next novel which I’m going to write in november. I’ve also written eight short stories and one novella. Four of the short stories are published, and another three will be published next month.

Almost there. My novella might be ready before my novel, but I’ll only count this as done once I have a novel published. 13 months ago

Michal I read Martha Alderson" s book the Plot Whisper

It is a great book to get started writing and get something of a structure for the book.
you can see the book and reviews of it here:

lesliephaIf I lost weight, I can definitely do this!!!

Hi everyone,
I am currently editing my teen romance novel but in the past two weeks I have managed to create my own website promoting my book and also a Facebook page, so publishers will more likely take me on if I get enough Likes. Please drop by and support me, so we can all accomplish our dreams together. My website includes a chapter sample so you can get a feel for what my novel’s about and so much more! And don’t forget to pass on the love. Thanks_

FabjeDownloaded Scrivener

I hope this will help order my thoughts and ideas and kick start my writing again…
No use writing with friends. They are not as serious about this as I am. For once, I should be able to do something by myself instead of dragging people into my ideas with my enthusiasm :).
And I want to write science fiction and have my own style. 16 months ago

Michal I'm working with a life coach now

I’m making more progress.
I’m writing more.
I’ve sent work in to be edited.
I entered a story in a contest.
Feels like I”m getting somewhere now. 16 months ago

11krageProgress toward this

I am now editing my 87k first draft. I estimate I’ll be finished with this about the beginning of october, so in about five months. Then I’ll decide on my next move with the second draft.

I’m planning my next novel, which is a part of a series. I’m currently planning the series, and estimate to be finished with a rough overview sometime about the middle of June. I’ll be researching background from June to september, then in september I’ll start planning the first one. Around november I expect to be writing it. 18 months ago
