get a job

so that i can get my life on the way i want 3 weeks ago

I got a job today, although it was only a days work. I got it through my mums boss, which goes to show when getting a job it really is who you know. So I’m hopeful that I will be employed on an ongoing basis by the company. The work would only be seasonal and I would only be busy at certain times. But at least it would be a job, and at least I would get one foot in the employment door :) 1 month ago

So there is this rite aid not too far away from my house and I’m still contemplating on wither or not I want to work there now because my schedule is all over the place.I spoke the manager a few weeks ago and I still have the form filled out and everything.If I see him sometime this week I’ll hand it in and see what happens.I hope I can still get the job : / 1 month ago

In the process, I actually disliked the internship. Instead of going to work, my work was located in my home. So every day I would wake up, stretch, eat breakfast and hop on the computer for hours on end, doing research on the import beverage market in China (which was difficult since it wasn’t in one source and 2/3 of what was available wasn’t free). I found it stressful since I had a deadline and felt pressured to stay on the computer.
But in the end, it was worth it. Not because I got paid or for the letter of recommendation, but I learned self discipline. I knew I had to get the work done, I set small goals for myself everyday, and in the end, it really came together. I got a source of pride from it all as well. And that’s pretty cool.
