Get out the vote for the Democratic party in 2008

I can lay this one to rest.

The next few days will tell the tale. I am so glad I got my T.V. fixed yesterday so that I could hear the coverage as well as see it.

Should be a humdinger!

No nice little table set-up for me. I roamed around the Oakland (McAfee) Coliseum today for two hours. I got cussed at, lectured, sympathized with, and generally ignored for those two hours. BUT…I was able to register one person! My first, my last.

And darn it all if he didn’t turn out to be a Republican.

I’m going tomorrow morning to the Oakland Coliseum (aka McAfee Coliseum), where I will be registering people to vote along with volunteers from the Obama camp.

They picked a good day: it’s a giveaway today (a Vida Blue jersey), and lots of people will be in line two hours early. We’re to go along the line, I believe, to ask them if they need to register to vote.

We held the bake sale today. We had 15 people donate baked goods and about 7 people help out at the tables. We raised over $600 today for MoveOn.org and their quest to get Barack Obama into the White House.

And we had some fascinating conversations along the way.

Thanks to my Sweetie for providing the information… I have just signed up to bake cookies and offer them for sale to raise funds for MoveOn to help Obama achieve the presidency.

The square is on the corner of Davis and East 14th St. I hope to be in front of the post office, or nearby.

For those of you not located in the Bay Area, San Leandro is just south of Oakland, CA.

I registered at the Obama website as a volunteer willing to help register voters.

THEN, I saw that there was already a voter registration event scheduled for a Sunday later this month at the Oakland Coliseum. I volunteered to be there for that, to work for two hours. (And I can reward myself by going to the game afterwards.)

It wasn’t my candidate. But it is now.

So we start in earnest! Defeat the Republicans. I don’t dislike John McCain, just some of his politics, like staying in Iraq for 50 yrs because we have to “win” and let’s not bother with health care because it’s not important.

Let’s go!!!

Ah ha!!! There’s a small Clinton rally at the Montclair farmers market, and I can easily attend that. Then the big one at 1000 on Sunday morning at Jack London Square. I intend to be there!!!

Too bad none of my buttons or t-shirts have arrived yet.
