an unhealthy obsession with Christmas. It’s been here all along. I knew that, my husband knows that… but it was fun to share a little of myself on 43T this past month.
Oh, and my brother showed up for Christmas!! Woo hoooooo!!
A few things I’d change for next year:
1. Attend Church (not just want to)
2. Write, “No chocolate please” on our Christmas lists
2. Not be so sad when it’s over :o/

Thanks everyone for your help!
My brother doesn’t have a computer or an ipod or any of that fancy stuff so I thought we’d make him a Christmas CD this year for Secret Santa. I tried to pick some of the songs we heard as kids. Yeah, I’m sure he’ll hate it! ha ha
These are the songs that made the cut this year:
Snow Miser
Heat Miser
You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch
Put One Foot in Front of the Other
What Can You Get a Wookie For Christmas?
Christmas Don’t Be Late by Alvin and the Chipmunks
I Wish it Was Christmas Today by SNL
Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo
Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel
Carol of the Bells also by South Park
The Hat I Got For Christmas is TOO Big by Speedy Gonzales
Blue Christmas by Porky Pig
Jingle Bell Rock by The Muppets
Frosty the Snowman by Jingle Cats
12 Days of Christmas by Doug and Bob Mackenzie
Ho Ho F-ing Ho by Kevin Bloody Wilson
Ding Fries Are Done by Burger King employee
All I Want For Christmas is my Two Front Teeth
I’m Getting Nuttin For Christmas
I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas
Rocking Around the Christmas Tree by Home Alone Soundtrack
Hawaiian Christmas Mele Kalikimaka
Santa Baby
Baby It’s Cold Outside
Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin’ Stevens
I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas by Motown Christmas Drifters

For Faith
Moonie’s Sugar Cookies!
1 cup sugar
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cup shortening or 1 stick butter and ¾ cup shortening (or really any combination but I always use a little shortening and it’s always buttered flavored)
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
3 tablespoon milk (a little more is fine too)
Beat the eggs and add milk and vanilla and mix all ingredients.
Chill for two hours.
Bake at 375 for 6-14 minutes.
I always make double the recipe and this Christmas I made two double batches because they go like hot cakes. Make sure you that you use homemade butter cream frosting. This is key.
Here’s my Butter Cream Frosting recipe.
6 cups powdered sugar
¾ cup butter softened not melted (or something that tastes an awful lot like butter)
¼ cup vegetable shortening (butter flavored)
6-8 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix ingredients. Some people add the powdered sugar slowly; I just dump it all in at once. Add more milk if you need to. I usually add 8 tablespoons or more right away. It makes 3 ½ cups.
Oh, also I will add a ½ to a full can of store bought frosting to the mix. I use a lot of frosting (for the trees I frosted them twice.) For the double batch of trees a ½ can added was just right (did not have any frosting left over). But I did have a little leftover when I made the stars.
Have fun and enjoy!

Look at this cute little guy!
He’s on my car’s antenna.
I also put one on my girlfriend’s van
AND
I put one on a random van at our local library!
I have no idea who the van belongs to so it was completely random. I think the person has kid(s) because they had one of those shades on a back window… so I’m hoping they’ll get a kick out of it. I was a little leery when I put the snowman on. I didn’t want anyone to run after me wondering what I was doing to their car (or God forbid I broke the antenna. ha!) So I made sure no one was around and did it quick. I also left the “instructions” under a windshield wiper. It explained how the snowman was a way to find your car easier in a parking lot.
Yaay! That was fun!

It took me five days to make cookies!!
I made two batches of sugar cookies (stars and trees). I’m not sure how many dozen a batch makes but it makes a lot. I frosted them all with homemade frosting (heaven) and, of course, decorated them (big pain in the dupa). I also made nine dozen peanut butter blossoms (sooo yummy when they first come out of the oven!!)
I made so much because I am giving two dozen each to both my sisters, my brother, my Mommy and my friend Wendy. Plus I want to have a bunch for our Christmas party.
It was fun but I’m not sure I’ll make this many cookies next year. Stay tuned!

Maybe I should have fought harder, maybe there’s still a chance, but right now, this looks like another dud Christmas.
I truly feel stuck in between a rock and a hard place.

This is something that I’ve wanted to do for some time now.
I bought four heart ornaments and I wrote the flight numbers (175, 11, 77, and 93) on each heart.
It’s my way of remembering almost 3,000 people.
