I ve done it in Turkey in 2010. It was awesome, not as frightful as you would think and an amazing experience. Even if you don’t know how to swim there is no problem although if you have tremendous fear of deep waters or you get scared just to think that there is the chance water might get inside those underwater glasses, don’t do it. I, for one, almost drawn a couple of years back even if I’m a fairly good swimmer and before I got underwater I had a couple of doubts if I should continue on not but I calmed myself down and it was totally worth it. Seeing all sorts of fishes and even feeding them, staying so much time under water is absolutely beautiful and I would definitely do it again! 1 month ago

I was planning to do this at the Great Barrier Reef during my trip last week but due to my medical form they wouldn’t let me, saying I would need a proper medical to make sure I’d be able to properly equalise given my nose/ear issues plus the fact that the nasal spray I’m taking is a steroid means I can’t do it. I may try to do get the test eventually but this means this goal is on hold for a while. Given my difficulties in the water during the week perhaps it might not work out for me. We’ll see. 6 months ago

We went SNUBA diving in Key West, does that count? Learning to breathe underwater was probably the hardest part. I guess I’ll give it a go at the real thing though before I check it off. 17 months ago

in Thailand earlier this year. Had another three dives near Boracay in the Philippines. Planning a trip to the Maldives over Christmas holidays. I’ve seen enough coral, gotten bit by a trigger fish. Now I want to see something big – like a giant manta ray, a whale shark, a giant sea turtle, marlin or sailfish or the like.
There any truth to what the dive shops tell you – you gotta go deep to see the big fish? That means additional training for the deeper dives. 19 months ago
