I haven’t touched this goal in 4 FOUR! months. Tomorrow (half til midnight now), I’m aiming to run for a 12 minute mile.
I did a treadmill workout at “medium intensity” according to the machine. It was a mostly a 4 minute mile, but there was a good incline and it lasted 40 minutes and I was hungry which didn’t help. I’m trying to get there, I just really hate running (prolly because I’m in bad shape..).
What do you recommend for picking up speed?

With alot of work and some luck I will be able to run again.
I’m on Week 6 (of 9) of the Couch-to-5K program (www.c25k.com), and this is one of my first goals after completing the program.
Well I jumped right in today and it was bad. Ran at a 7 1/2 min mile pace and only made it to 4 minutes before I had to stop. Smoking sucks. I’ll get there though, just gonna take a bit.
I just back from a 2 mile run. Obviously i did the first one faster than the second, and i did the 2 miles in 18mins. So i think i achieved this goal because i think i did the first in less than 8 and the other in approx 10. Next goal is 2 miles in 16 mins :)
Last week i ran for 13 minutes but dont now exactly the distance. it may be approx 1.5miles. But this week i wanna try to measure it and maybe do it in 8 mins or less.

Why is it so hard to get out there and even get my starting time? Help, please!
i averaged a 10.5 minute mile. Better than I expected, but I’ve got a long way to go.
