learn how to draw

Since writing my last entry, I’ve decided to bite the bullet and just start sketching. It’s still stick figures and outlines, but I figure if I keep drawing and practicing (and if I get a few books about basic art stuff), I might be a passable artist someday. 2 years ago

I don’t really want to do anything fancy! I just want to be able to sketch places I visit, animals, plants, etc. Sort of more naturalist drawings than fabulous art? The only thing I can draw right now are stick figures and geometric shapes, so I have a lot to work on.

I’m not sure how to actually start accomplishing this goal. I’ve never thought I was any good at drawing, so I didn’t pay much attention to my art classes in high school. Should I just jump in and start drawing? Or should I look for a class, a book, a video to learn from first? 3 years ago

I wanna learn to draw stuff. I think it’s a way to capture the feeling in something you experience, hopefully better than a photograph. And it’s a lasting thing. You can tell about people by the way they draw. 4 years ago

I took a drawing class last semester in college…
and hated every second of it. It was seriously the most frustrating thing I’ve ever done in my life. I gave all my drawing stuff to my boyfriend at the end of the semester, lol! He really likes drawing, for some unexplainable reason… :p
