Keep Track of All the Books I Read in 2007

I read a lot of books, but never remember to record them. Too bad, this is obviously too much for me. (One of the best I read was AWAY, by Amy Bloom.)

I can’t remember the title or author…
It was a small book I had to read for school about slavery. It was written for sixth-graders I think, which made it really boring, and most of the information I already knew. Oh well.

I found this a rather difficult book to get through. It wandered a lot, repeated its depressing themes even more often. Could have been half the length.

In the end, I am glad I read the whole thing, but I don’t really understand why Chris Ware is so highly regarded, based on this book.

36. Marley and Me by John Grogan

I couldn’t put this book down and finished it in a day. I loved the story and the humor. Anyone who has made a pet part of the family is sure to love this book.

Well, 2007 is just about finished and it looks like my tally for the year stands at 36. I read most of those books in the first half of the year. In the second half there were a lot of distractions and the reading just kind of fell away. I’m hoping to get back into good reading habits come the start of 2008.

Almost completely disappointing. I thought this was going to be a transcription of her diary, warts and all. But no, it’s a faux scrapbook, very splashy and silly. A Griffin and Sabine type treatment of the material.
