I’ve finished this goal yesterday when I went to the concert with a good friend of mine. It was a bit of a hassle getting inside, as I had tickets for a spot that would face the stage from an angle. Little did we know, we entered the stadium through the wrong doors, so we were sent to a stand with people who were supposed to help us out. The people there handed us some tickets to a supposedly “better” location.
We arrived at a pretty good time. Two different bands were supposed to fill in the first 2 hours, and one of them was already playing. I took some time searching the bands on youtube earlier that day, so we both had a pretty good idea of what they would be like. We ended up sitting at the far end of the stadium, looking over the crowd in the standing area with the stage on the other side. The band was far off and hard to see, but I guess it WAS a pretty good spot.
While the first band Bastille played (See picture), I took in my surroundings and I was fairly disappointed by the mundanity of the stage setup in comparison to the HAARP tour I have on DVD. After they stopped playing, the both of us decided to get a beer. I bought myself some merchandise while I was at it. Biffy Clyro was the next band to play. They weren’t too bad. It took quite a while for Muse to finally open after that, or maybe it just felt that way.
I was a little scared Muse would end up disappointing me, for some reason…The “mundane” stage showed a news reporter on the main screen, reading the lines heard at the beginning of Unsustainable. When she was done? BOOM! Fucking explosion in the middle of the concert! The entire stage just then transformed to something incredibly badass. Fire blasted into the air, and Muse was there, opening up with Supremacy!
I won’t say what else happened there, but I must emphasize on how AWESOME it was! Next time I visit them, I must really make sure to join the standing crowd! The people in the far back were stiff and boring. Not very passionate. I felt out of place just singing along! Not that I cared :) 18 months ago
as I have super sensitive ears and most concerts are so loud, it feels like I endure them rather than enjoy them. The only solution I can think of is to wear ear plugs and hopefully that will drain away excessive noise. LOVE Muse though, i have songs on my ipod from 5 of their albums, to me they’re a consistently awesome band <3 21 months ago
I hope that they have really good merch. For a while, I was trying to start a collection of wrist/ sweatbands from the concerts that I went to. Then only the first two concerts were selling sweatbands (Dream Theater and Breaking Benjamin).
Merch is always so expensive, so I like to save my money for something that I REALLY like. Here’s hoping. 22 months ago
And I just booked our hotel for the night of the concert. :) 23 months ago
Excellent gig. They played my two favorite songs Knights of Cydonia & Uprising at the end too. 23 months ago
Last weekend, my husband and I finally bought our three tickets. Two for us, and one for hubby’s best friend.

Our original plan was to go to the show in Detroit. But I JUST realized that the Detroit show is the opening weekend for “Oklahoma!” (should I be cast in the ensemble). SO that was out. Then I was looking on the MUSE website for any other dates, and the Thursday before the Detroit concert, there is one in Ohio!! :)
So I think the plan is that we will go to the Ohio show. It is closer, and we could still take the day off and explore the city. Maybe find a place to eat that was on DDD (Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives…what can I say, my husband and I like reality food shows). Maybe visit the Rock N Roll HOF. It would be a lot of fun!
And of course, topped off with SEEING MUSE LIVE AND IN PERSON OMG. 2 years ago
I just saw on the Facebook that MUSE is having a tour in North America in 2013.
OMG I’M GONNA GO! I started texting my hubby as soon as I saw it. Neither of us have ever seen MUSE live and we both want to so badly! Thinking of the show in Detroit, Michigan. I’ve never been to Michigan before! 2 years ago
Good lord like I can afford £90 (at cheapest, I might add) just for tickets plus travel to get there.
That sucks. I’m not made of money. 2 years ago
