I need it! Work’s too stressful! I got down to a bottle a day but it’s creeping up! 22 months ago

RoseGoing well.

I’ve been drinking Kirk’s Sugarfree Lemonade and vodka at home, and gin and tonics or champagne at pubs, but now I feel like not drinking for a while. Easy!

I’m still drinking one cup of green tea a day (although I can deal if I miss a day), because it’s quite good for you. Do I change my goal to suit my achievement?

RoseBlegh

Going to a pub tonight for my sister’s 21st birthday.
Will see if there’s diet lemonade, but I doubt it.
Vodka and soda water, gin and tonic here I come! :/ 3 years ago

RoseCommitted to the wagon!

I had a my last can of Diet Coke for the year on New Year’s Eve. I was really worried it’d remind me that I missed it and I would be right back on the junk, etc, but in fact it tasted like burning! I drank champagne instead. I am on one cup of green tea a day and I am resuming work tomorrow, working on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so perhaps I will have nothing on the off days.
Happy New Year! :) 3 years ago

Rose..Now?

It’s been nearly three weeks on two teabags.
Shall I go down to one?
But I’m sad. And tired, and about to quit smoking again (so I will have less energy).
Oh well, I suppose there’s a chance I’ll sleep better.
Also, it’s getting quite hot in Australia and tea makes me want to barf.
Planning a ‘last Diet Coke ever’ on New Year’s Eve (and a haircut!) so I can test how long I can go.
If I’m all good in the hood by my birthday (March 17th) then.. then it’s all good in the hood! :) 3 years ago

RoseOh btw

Guess who went to bed at 12, couldn’t sleep until 12:30am, woke at 3:00am, read and rolled around in bed for three hours, went for a run to 7:00am, had to come home because she was about to resume vomiting from the day before, considered a Diet Coke but decided against it because she doesn’t want to that to be in her life anymore and besides, it might actually taste metallic and feel stingy, drying and painful after this long, went to sleep at 11:00am, woke at 2:00pm, and may have actually gone without a second tea but she can’t remember?

Yeah, that’s right.

It is the day after that. I couldn’t sleep until about 2:30am, woke seven hours later, and have only had one teabag and one refill today. It is 2:00pm and I will have one soon because I’m a little trooper.

Onward ho! :) 3 years ago

Roseoh wait

Diet Coke is good for you.

Roseoh no way

Today is Thursday. I believe the last time I had a Diet Coke was last Monday.

Since then I’ve just had green tea. Two teabags with two mugs of water each, you know, one refill. The first one is filled with honey and is sickly, the second is based on the last inch of liquid, and is blander but that’s okay.

The day before yesterday I left my last cup to cool (that’s a REALLY big annoyance about tea – I should get started on today’s one before it’s too late!), forgot about it and did without okay.

Actually, I was really upset, but at least I wasn’t tired, I don’t think. Hmm.

Oh, I just realised I have a really big headache right now! :S

So I did the same thing yesterday and was a bit sleepy by ten but that was also due to having been upset (I thought of having my fourth because I was still before curfew, and really cryface) and then watching a stupid television program with my boyfriend’s family. I wake up exhausted but that’s not the caffeine’s fault. Late nights and nihilism.

Hmm. Okay, maybe caffeine withdrawal isn’t helping this annoying little bout of depression. But there are many variables! Should I go back to four mugs, will that help or hinder my exams next week? They are afternoon, not morning ones, and I have this idea that having the day’s quota before them will make me twitchy and rubbish at concentration, but not having them will make me tired and rubbish at concentration!

I reckon I’d actually feel, like, ‘guilty’. But I’ve been slightly vegetarian for the last bit, and have already adjusted to it and started to feel very uncomfortable at the idea of eating meat (but I already thought it was gross). BUT – I made myself eat fish and stuff when I was studying last week, even though I was repulsed and had actually been eating little the week before, because I needed to put aside feelings for a tip-top body and mind. Right? Like gigantic vitamin capsules. Oh, I take those too!

Well, I’ll have four mugs today and see if I feel better. No I won’t, that’s nonsense. What’s a 8mg difference? The whole thing is the coversion; I let my tea steep for ages, but I’m overestimating green tea and won’t recheck it because then placebo effect.)

I am all tired and crunchy because I haven’t been stretching or exercising!

I’m just sad because I’m sad.

I still fancy a DC sometimes when I’m very thirsty, but it passes.

I like rituals. After exams (a week and five hours and fifteen minutes from now..), I won’t have anything because it will be the evening. But then on the thirteenth (Friday the 13th! Huh!) I’ll have my last can. Is this reasonable? 3 years ago

RoseP. S.

I will consider this goal completed if I’ve not had another Diet Coke by the end of the year. Scary? Not as much as I thought it’d be. Looking forward to the benefits showing up in my pocket, recycling bin and most importantly, face!

And it’s strange, but even with the placebo effect, I actually feel, like, empowered by the green tea, because I know there’s no ‘down’ period.

Hurrah! 3 years ago

RoseI don't think

I’ve had a Diet Coke since Monday! (it is Thursday night)
Just green tea _

Said today I felt like a DC, so my mother said to ‘stop with the deprivation’ and have one but it’d make me feel dirty (can’t stop saying that word!) and she said she wished I wouldn’t say that, and I said well it has less syllables that contaminated. Unhealthy, I mean. I am glad to have healthy things in my body.

I think after this carton (like 12 cans left in the fridge door) we might not buy it anymore. Wow! I’ve had a can every day since I was 12! New life? Or just more expensive trips to the corner store? 3 years ago
