finish NY apartment renovations

This is the master without the wallpaper. It looks soooo white! They are ripping out the carpet and refinishing the wooden floors.

It still needs some help but getting close!

They came to measure for the shower door today!!! It feels weird that work is taking place when I am not there. The floor people also came today to redo the master bedroom floor. The men at the building are taking care of things for me…they have been amazing.

The little room is finally cleaned out. I still have a little more to do in here but it is almost done. The door on the far closet still has to be hung next week.

This is the kitchen. There are a few other things that have been done since this picture but it is just finish work.

I was so excited to have this finished but as you can see from the photo the plaster doesn’t meet the wood of the ledge. I am not going to have the wall replastered and painted so a piece of molding will have to do. Luckily the carpenter is coming today for a door so I am going to ask him to do it.

Today has been a big day! The carpenter was here this morning to go over the punch list and he is coming back on Monday to finish up all the little details. He came with the decorator that he works with and her little girl. Oscar has a new best friend. Now for the plumbers…I will be able to wash my face in a sink tonight!!!!!!!! No more brushing my teeth in the tub! The bathtub holds water, the kitchen sink drains and the toilet doesn’t rock back and forth. Now this is progress!

these are the guest bath fixtures I chose. I was going to leave the old ones but the painters lost the screws and bolts so I bought these. There are two, one goes above the medicine cabinet and this is the other.

I thought this was going to overtake the room it was going to look so big but now that it is up, does it look too small? It needs some new crystals and a good cleaning and matching bulbs so maybe I will reevaluate then.
