Agatha Cat17 May

Only watched 1 hour yesterday!

Need to get into the habit of walking away and doing something else.

Eurovision tonight. Plan to watch it and then turn in. 5 days ago

NickFoosWhat is "less?"

I’m having a hard time checking this one off my list. I mean, I don’t even have tv. I have Netflix and amazon prime- and I don’t watch them constantly. I follow a few shows from time to time, which I imagine is better than just hitting “play all” for the next 12 hours or so. 2 months ago

RaeEarly night 2/25/13

Jeff got home after a long day; so we were in bed before 9 – I read for an hour before succumbing to sleep – different than a typical evening and was clear-headed enough to follow the book – that is about 2 hours less tv than I would have been exposed to… 2 months ago

amandaperlWeekend TV scheme

I find that I can watch an hour at a time comfortably while I clean or do crafts or some such. After that, I get up and do other things – cook, run errands, etc. Then I have recharged and can do more TV-in-the-background stuff. 3 months ago

RaeTV Free Saturday night

I turned it off before I got in the shower and we didn’t turn it back on. I read blogs and a book. And, wasn’t prone to snacking. And, I feel more focused. 3 months ago

amandaperlFamily Saturday

We are trying a low-screen-time no-social-commitment Saturday. I have purchased a frisbee and am on my way out the door to buy a thermos for hot drinks. It’s February, after all, but an afternoon in the park sounded lovely. 3 months ago

amandaperlGoals

Less TV (NOT no TV) makes me feel better and healthier. So I aim to discover the balance point of healthy TV. I know on a “school” night (work night just doesn’t have the same ring), 1 hour is about right. Sometimes I watch less or none, but if I’m going to watch TV, I should top out at an hour. I have not yet found the correct formula for weekends.

Currently other “screen time” (video games, blog reading, etc.) are not an issue for me, just TV time. 3 months ago

BrewingStarting out!

I’ve only got Netflix and Hulu and my Media Center with all my DVD’s and TV shows on it, but I watch it to much.

It’s going to all start with canceling my Netflix! 4 months ago

Most of whats on isn’t all that interesting/entertaining to make me feel it was completely worth the time spent watching. Ive been using this time for priorities, getting out, and doing things I like and that keep the happy thoughts rollin’. Lets dedicate ourselves to our own lives and fill them up with awesome moments of our own instead of just wasting our precious and scarce time watching the jersey shore cast or the kardashians live theirs. A little is fine, but if its getting in the way just think about it twice. 4 months ago
