I’m learning to play Mountain Dulcimer. I’ve never studied string instruments much but I very much want to learn about a lot about chords, intervals, etc. 10 months ago
I recently met Cal, a friend of a friend’s and she just moved in town. I know this city is expensive and so when i learened that she had studied education and was a level 8 pianist, i imediately jumped on the occasion and asked if she’d teach me for a fee. She agreed! We still need to figure out the details, but i think i’ll be taking my first theory class in the very near future! 13 months ago

I’ve begun reading the Idiot’s Guide to Music Theory – got it from the library, naturally – and it’s been really helpful in cutting to the quick of the matter. It’s just what I needed.
I chose to read it through fairly quickly, then go back and revisit it in a more in-depth manner with more practicing and application, sort of a survey followed by a closer look. 2 years ago
and it’s surprisingly informative. This was a goal for 2010, but I never got around to it. I’m really glad I’m finally pursuing it in 2011. 2 years ago
