polarpmDo it for Race for Life

Did this in May 2006 whilst running a Race for Life run. Really pleased did it without stopping AND for such a good cause at the same time (Cancer Research). 6 years ago

it takes mental and physical determination. You need to train consistantly for at least 4 weeks before your body can handle it. I suggest you run 10 min nonstop for 3-4 days, 15 min nonstop for 3-4 days, 20 min for 3-4 days ect. ntil it becomes natural. Remember to drop your arms ars your running. focus ona set point ahead of you or target to pass, think clearly, and to breathe in through the nose and out of the mouth. It helps to listen to active music before the race, and eat pasta the night before. If a 65 year old woman can do it. GET YOUR ASS IN GEAR. YOU CAN DO IT TOO! 6 years ago

pennyflowerI diiiiid it!

Yay! I did it today! I haven’t been able to do that for about a year! 6 years ago

ManaiaGot some running shoes for xmas

So now I have no excuses! Not sure if that’s a good thing or not, because I hate running and unfortunately I no longer have the motivation of exercising the dog (he’s developed a nasty limp and isn’t allowed to do heavy exercise anymore). Still, it’s good for me, it’s great training for tramping, and cheaper than the gym. I’ll have to start working on this goal. 6 years ago

Shelby...

Hehe, I love running… especially the endorphins. =P

Mhmm, get those shoes laced, people. It’s worth it. =P 6 years ago

ManaiaHaha, I lost my running shoes

Lost them about six months ago, which kind of put this goal on an indefinate hold. Can’t run without shoes, not on concrete anyway. Hopefully I’ll get a new pair soon (maybe for christmas if I’m good?)

I haven’t bought myself a new pair yet because running shoes are just so darn expensive! Who would have thought it would cost you $300 to replace something produced by underpaid people in India, or whereever else in the third world Nike and Reebok have their sweatshops?

Incidentally, does anyone know where to get running shoes that aren’t made in a sweatshop (do they exist)? 6 years ago
