Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Rhoda Rica AlfecheSo how funny...

I started this site back when I was lost and had ended a bad relationship that took me 2 more years to shake off. I added this goal and set up email reminders of what I wanted in a relationship and to spark hope for myself to keep going forward. So today I get it the email and it hits me…I’m getting married in 10 days!!!

He is the love of my life and I know I’m his. Thank you to everyone who created this site, who comes on here to cheer and support and to everyone else who share the same goals. It does help to know that I wasn’t alone. 9 months ago

NekoI do!

We got married last week. We had a small civil ceremony in the office on Friday. On Saturday we held part where was our close family and closest friends. There was less than 40 of us. It was a perfectly sized party and so much fun!

The ring is the same as my engagement ring, but we just added a quite huge ruby in it. I didn’t have a white dress, but instead a black with pink belt and jacket. Emilia, who I have met here, was my made of honor.

The part was hold at place that had sauna (of course! We are Finnish :P). Well normally there aren’t sauna at the wedding venue, but we wanted to be a little different. And there was a stand up comedian who was so great!

And the groom was of course my dear Antti! No changes on that :D

So now we just need to stay married and live happily ever after. Let’s see how that goes… 10 months ago

NekoThe world didn't end yesterday...

...but I guess a new era did begin. We got engaged today! :) I actually new about this cos he had to tell me about his plans cos he didn’t know what size my ring should be and since we wanted it to be this day (today is our fifth anniversary) it was essential to get the rings done in time (in Finland it’s common that both get the rings at the time of engagement). Our rings were handmade by local jewelery smith. It has no diamonds (I don’t want any), but probably when we get married, we will alternate the ring by adding few stones there (not diamonds, something else).

It’s been pretty hard for me not to tell about this before hand to my friends.

Today we will also celebrate this by going eat out some fancy place that is still secret for me. In the morning I got real champagne and roses :)

I am very happy now :) I love him a lot ♥ 2 years ago

I got married to the man of my dreams on October 4, 2000. I was only 17 at the time ,so young. But when it’s right, it’s right. We are very happy. When we change, we do it together. We grow and build on our relationship daily. 2 years ago

NekoRe-opening this goal as well

Don’t get too excited, there’s no weddings in the near future though for me :D

When I gave up this goal, I was so disappointed in love. I believed that I couldn’t think that I would get the happily ever after. But right now I am in very satisfying relationship and I want to keep him in my life for rest of my life.

And when I get married some day, I want to stay married. That’s why I want to be absolutely sure and want him to be sure as well before saying “I do”. 2 years ago

You know what else.. You Never know how this will work out. When my best friend since I was 13 texted me to say she was engaged I went to work, opened a random online diary and ranted about how envious I was and how I would never have the same and how miserable ad fed up I was f searching…. Fast forward a year from then I had met the man I would marry… Fast forward another 5 years, my best friends husband turned out to be such a twat.. And no one saw that coming, he seemed so sound and they were once so happy… Turns out she’s better off without that wanker and me who thought I’d never meet anyone is so far happily married with 2 gorgeous girls… I wsh I could find that online entry to remind myself that even though you feel defeated at times in life actually you just have to wait and see what’s round the corner… 3 years ago
