My dance teacher (who I love, she’s like a second mum) has asked me to design her a tattoo of a vine to go on her hip, as she knows I’m arty. She wants it to cover up her big scars from reconstructive surgery after she had breast cancer. She also wants something like 2 flowers/devils/butterflies on it to represent her 2 sons. This is such an important goal to me as she is such an inspiring person (for obvious reasons) who loves life, and the fact that the tattoo has such personal meaning makes me feel so moved and special, and lucky too :) It’s such an amazing thing and I’m going to give it my very best efforts! :D <3 4 months ago
She keeps bugging me about this one. I wasn’t getting it done mostly cause I wasn’t feeling the design – a lotus flower with zodiac signs floating around representing myself and my sister. I don’t like the idea of jamming symbolic things in for the sake of it regardless of the aesthetic outcome. So I suggested representing us with two koi fish swimming either around or downstream/upstream of a lotus flower and she loved the idea.
So now I have a more cohesive design to work with, I’m getting excited. She doesn’t want traditional japanese koi – which I agree can look a bit harsh and super detailed (though I do love them) so I think a watercolor type tat might help soften it up a lot. Going to try different placement ideas today and see what she likes best. 14 months ago
