work out 5 times a week

I started today and I’m hoping I can keep going. it was a struggle because I have been sick for a few days, and working out made my cough worse. But the good news is that I got off the couch and started moving. I stretched for awhile, did some sit ups, lifted weights and walked on the treadmill for about 15 minutes. Again, it wasn’t much, but it’s better than nothing!

I’m ready to do this because I hit rock bottom. I have always been an athletic and happy person, but about 3 years ago I became depressed. I gained some weight because of it and now my self confidence is at an all time low. I want to feel like myself again. I hope that this forum will help with accountability and encouragement.

Happy New Year ya’ll

It's fun! 4 months ago

I go, every day. With the exception of one or two days a week. I’ve embraced group classes. This week I did belly dancing and zumba (salsa and merengue) it was fun, I keep up with the hour and a half long class “regulars”. I’ve taken on an entire new concept of what it’s like to be active. It’s fun, it’s healthy and I get out of there feeling on top of the world! I just need to organize my time a little better so that I can do different types of work out like swimming. Anyway, work out 5 times a week is in fact very doable! I’ve gone from 30 min. to 45, 60 min. and now 90 min. in about two months. Physical changes have been: smaller pant size, better sleep, more confidence, feel happier!

still going... 5 months ago

I continue on 45 min. daily. I stopped for one week, but it’s okay. I keep going, some days I dread going, others I am very happy and excited to do so. Looking forward to getting more results, probably I have to raise it up?

Working it! 5 months ago

I am working it! It’s been a month since I go to the gym constantly for 45-60 min. It’s been hard work to get out of bed/couch put on my running shoes and head to the gym, and I’m doing it! Once I’m there, it’s not so bad, and when I get out it’s a great feeling. Just gotta keep being consistent.

Two steps forward, one step back 7 months ago

This is something great.. in theory. I’ve done this on and off for the past six months, I don’t do it every week like I should. This week I did go five times for 45 min. each time and I feel good about it, there’s a feeling that somehow stops me when I get too close. I wonder what that is?
