LunaNueva is feeling a little better :o)
This site is amazing! It’s like having your photos in your computer! I just started using it for posting pictures of my watercolors with a group of people doing the same. But now that I got a glimpse of the extent and potential this site has, I’ll be using it much more and integrate with 43T and my blog :)
Has anyone put the santa hats and santa beards on their photos as notes yet? Those things are so funny!
I created a Flickr account a while back, but I didn’t really upload any photos to it. I liked the way people’s Flickr pictures looked on their 43things pages (added to its colorfulness), so I finally uploaded more pictures onto my account too. Flickr is very easy to use and I’m going to try and use it regularly…
sld1 Resting...at last.
For friends & family to see. Took a while to narrate all of them but well worth the time/effort.
I created an account on Sunday and have since uploaded two sets of photos.
I like the ease of use and the tag feature. My parents were able to easily go to the website and look at the pics.
I played around a little but haven’t investigated the features yet. I would like to figure out:
- If you can have some people see some pics and others different pictures- Generally the different levels of permissions, etc.- If you can send someone directly to a set of pictures vs. your front page with all the sets listed- What the differences are between the free version and proI also need to write easy to use instructions for viewing the pictures as a slide show or as different sizes when sending out the link.
it’s so easy to sign up and start uploading pics! opt for the free account first. i heart flickr!!!!!!! looking through other people’s photography is uber-inspiring.
...are now on Flickr – the next step is to using Flickr in a more organised manner
I kept a Gallery 1.x photo gallery on my website for years with thousands of snaps in it, and I just grew sick of having to manage it. The last straw was when Gallery decided that one of the files related to the main gallery section had to exist and I couldn’t recreate it for the life of me. I left a PHP warning at the top of the gallery page for ages until I finally wiped the whole thing out for Gallery2. But in the end, Gallery2 wasn’t worth redoing all of my albums. $25/yr for Flickr, and I’ll never have to worry about all of that again.
...it was straightforward to setup. Next thing is to start using it for new photos.
