It was awesome! Hawaii is beautiful, but being next to such an amazing power of nature was really cool.
To stand at the edge of that rim and know that if you fall, or if there is a quake or eruption, you are toast! ... literally … is pretty amazing. 5 years ago
I stood atop an extinct Cinder Cone volcano in the middle of nowhere in the state of Idaho. Everything was covered in small black rocks,dirt and sand. I hope to climb to the summit of Mt. St. Helens this summer. You can go all the way to the top of the southern rim but not into the crater. Good luck with this! 5 years ago
